>>What's bothering you about the state of your life right now? Just about everything. It would be too time consuming to write out why I hate everything >>Do you have long-term goals? More like fantasies that wont ever come true. I don't even know if I truly want those things. >>Do you have short-term goals? I'm just going to end up getting hurt again. >>Do you think self-improvement is worth it? Yes the things you consume can alter your state of mind and help you succeed in life. However the drive that you require to make these changes usually stems from outside variables. I really don't think fate is in anybody's hands. Most people are just being swept by the current.

My sleeps a little out of wack at the moment, but I've got a plan to get myself back on 11PM - 6AM within 4 days, so that's not a major problem.
I haven't been to the gym for around a week now, and even then I'd started just running and gave up the weights, I've faced the reality that just using machines for isolated muscles is a waste of time, but I don't know where to start with free weights and it's getting to me.
I got rejected from a job interview recently that I thought I'd get, and it would have meant moving across the country. It was with some people I used to hang out with that I talk to online now and then as well, so I don't feel like I can talk to them out of embarrassment about the situation.
It's also made me reconsider what I want to do, I think I just wanted in on that field as it meant working with them, and now that's over I don't really have a goal in life. I need a plan for the future.
How about you user, how's it all going?
Parker Bailey
Good work lad, keep it up. When you're in there, just make sure you show up. My biggest mistake was missing lectures and labs, and it all started to spiral down. Also make use of resources. Uni's put people there you can speak with if you're finding it tough. Nothing wrong with a chat with a councilor to get your head in order, and if needed they'll point you towards a doctor with more experience.
>Just about everything. It would be too time consuming to write out why I hate everything Even if it's not for the thread, you should sit down and write it out lad. Putting words to a page, even with a keyboard is helpful, moving the stressors from your head to somewhere else lets you see it all in a different way, and you may be able to be more eloquent in your writing than in your head, and see it slightly differently. You're definitely not wrong with people being swept up by the current. Most people live their lives on autopilot. At the very least, if you're reflecting on your actions you're making a good start.
Would you like to post some art, I know a lot of artists are far tougher on themselves than they need to be. It's also important to remember that you don't need to be in pain to make good art, a lot of people think that way and it's unhealthy. You can get better mentally and artistically at the same time.

>>What's bothering you about the state of your life right now? I have huge problems with truly opening to people. I can't speak about my emotions and if this topic is brought up I just "defend" myself with jokes. This also leads to not being able to create "true" relationship. I also feel huge pressure coming from my family that I must be super successful in life and every time I do something wrong I feel like thrash. >>Do you have long-term goals? Getting a well-paying. Also trying to chase my dreams but it can be hard if even possible. I would like to create a (preferably) life-long relationship but it's really hard because of the problem mentioned above. >>Do you have short-term goals? Finishing uni and improving myself. >>Are you currently working to change anything? I'm trying to do more talking with strangers (mostly via the Internet) to be more confident when talking to another human being. >>Do you think self-improvement is worth it? Yes

ITT: we masturbate over the thought of a good life but ironically we keep wasting time on this terrible website instead of doing something about our pathetic lives, the thread, the book, the game, the movie.
>What's bothering you about the state of your life right now? being a wageslave >Do you have long-term goals? no >Do you have short-term goals? find a friend >Are you currently working to change anything? no >Do you think self-improvement is worth it? depends on how much you're willing to improve yourself. me for example, i want to improve and become a better person, but i have 0 motivation to do so. it's easier to complain than actually doing something to change.
Jordan Perez
It's a rather new hobby, I'm still very much in the learning phase so I don't have much to show, no finished works or anything.
Alexander Moore
It's easy to use humor as a defense mechanism, I do it a lot too. What's important is to remember that people aren't as terrible as we think they are. For me at least, it tends to be out of fear of growing attached and getting hurt. Most people aren't out there to hurt others, it does happen for sure but usually its accidental, or they're thinking just about themselves and you get caught in the crossfire.
My father puts a lot of pressure on me, it doesn't help that I live at home. He wants me to have a well paying job, but I don't really have a passion and anything I want to push myself in. Even if I drop the idea of passion, and just go for something easy, or well paying I find it hard to get the motivation. I've got a badly paying job right now but it's somewhat comfortable. Job applications feel like a nightmare.
Being self reflective has its own benefits, as long as it's not done alone. If you're at least trying sometimes, then these sort of threads pop up when you're lurking, they'll distract you from the rest of the trash.

>What's bothering you about the state of your life right now?
I am approaching 30, and live off my parents with no freedom or income.
>Do you have long-term goals? None realistic. I wish to be a famous rock star, and movie producer, and book author. I want to start a commune and live with a wife.
>Do you have short-term goals? Get high and buy drugs.
>Are you currently working to change anything? No. I transitioned from male to something more female about 3 years ago and now random men at parks mouth off about the way I eat Japanese food. But mostly I'm just terrible at guitar and disorganized and mentally ill.

>What's bothering you about the state of your life right now? I'm still unfit and I cannot decide what to go back to university for. I'm signed up for a decent program on Business Information Systems, but I'm thinking about switching to Computer Science. I'm also just generally unhappy in anything I do even though I want to do it and I think it's because I've been "lost" for the past few years. >Do you have long-term goals? Get fit, get my second degree, get a decent job, be happy >Do you have short-term goals? Lose about 10 more lbs, be less miserable, and learn Java >Are you currently working to change anything? Exercising 5 time per week (Thrice weekly power yoga and twice weekly jogging), learning Java, getting back into the habits I had when I was younger and much happier. >Do you think self-improvement is worth it? Yes, I lost 10 pounds over the last few months and due to being diligent with the exercise and diet I'm actually starting to look fit and whenever someone does one of those "fatty roast" maneuvers like flipping up titty they're shocked to find it 90% smooth or when they do the belly pat they feel it isn't soft and jiggly but firm and and stationary.
Jonathan Thomas
Well it's important to draw what you love and are passionate about, especially when starting off. The best advice with drawing is to just keep practicing, but make sure not to burn out. If you want to look at anything in particular for learning, the most important thing is studying proportions and getting that right.
Adrian Gutierrez
How much sleep are you getting at the moment user? A lot of people say you need a full 8 hours every day, but it's all dependant on the person. I tend to do best on 6 and a half to 7.
Outside of length of sleep, how is your sleep hygiene? Is your bedroom a proper temperature, and are you making sure its not too bright?

Any recommendations for yoga routines user?
Anthony Harris
I have no idea how to word this. I would be happier in my life if i had a chill thing/activity/event/gathering of humans i could go to when im bored where you dont have to go out of your way to talk to people im an introvert so even just being at a bar with friends or in class it feels like "going out of the way to talk to people" I dont know if it makes any sense but i want people to talk to me rather than me having to seek and try to start a conversation up with them
Alexander Hill
I follow Coach Sean Vigue on YouTube. He's my favorite power yoga teacher and is the most watched male yoga instructor.
This was the routine I followed on MWF >Beginner Power Yoga For Men (2-3 weeks) Followed by >Intermediate Power Yoga For Men (2-3 weeks) Followed by >Advanced Power Yoga For Men (1-2 Weeks) Followed by >Beginner Power Yoga For Men + Intermediate Power Yoga For Men (1-3 Weeks)
This is my main routine now >Monday: Random 25-30 minute video from his "30 Days Power Yoga" Series OR the Beginner + Intermediate combination >Wednesday: Warrior Yoga Routine from his "30 Days Power Yoga" Series >Friday: Random video from his "4 P's Series"
For jogging I'm doing it on Tuesdays and Thursdays following the None to Run schedule
Be prepared to get your ass raped by the power yoga. It's very hard at first and each jump gets much harder. However, he provides modifications and alternatives if you can't do something yet so you can still follow along and improve.
Tips for the yoga >Focus on form and breathing while you're still in the beginner stage >Do a few minutes warm-up and stretch before doing the power yoga I personally use the reddit Bodyweight Fitness app and do the "Molding Mobility" as my warm-up
Zachary Brooks
I understand this, user. I'm also very reserved and introverted, but I still crave attention from other humans. But going out to join a club or go to a gathering is a really intimidating concept. I've yet to find an easy solution. At some point I think you just have to suck it up and go somewhere.

Learn yoga for yourself from a book about yoga. Not some fool from YouTube. Yoking with the divine (the literal definition is to yoke) is too important to leave to YouTube bs. You should have a basic understanding of Hinduism in general also. I read teach yourself yoa by james hewitt and thats just scratching the surface.

Haha you remind me of myself from years ago. I loved mathematics and physics. I just loved studying, I had nothing else to do, no friends, no other major hobbies. I just used to lock myself in my room for 8-9 hours straight for studying. I didn't go to school except for exams and used to stay at home because I used to think that everything else is just a waste of time and efforts. And then I fucked up. I burnt out myself. Now I have no will or motivation to study, sight of books disgusts me. I couldn't even look at my books as they always made me wanna kill myself. I don't know why I felt that way, maybe it was loneliness, maybe it was because of my heartbreak but I used to have a breakdown everyday. Used to cry for hours straight while throwing things here and there. Sometimes I would just lay on my bed for hours instead of studying while dreaming of getting into a good uni. I fucking hated everything. In the end i didn't clear any of entrance exams and now I have to settle for a shit uni. I fucking ruined myself, I ruined my life.

>What's bothering you about the state of your life right now? I've been wasting this summer for he most part. Sitting in my room doing nothing. Not eating right or sleeping. Some friends came to visit the other day and the girl texted me afterwords to tell me I didn't look that good and she was worried for me. This is my last summer before college I wanted to spend it improving myself and having fun. >Do you have long-term goals? Get in good shape. Be finacially secure. Be better socially. Travel start my own buisness. >Do you have short-term goals? Quit Jow Forums this summer. Fap less. Fix my hair and skin. Cut my body fat so I have abs or something close. Sign up for classes cause I still haven't done that. And email my roomate to introduce myself. >Are you currently working to change anything? Not really. Every day I think today I'll sign up for classes and do paperwork or try to find a summer job but i just end up sitting in my room. The only thing I've done consistently is gone outside to sit in the sun so I get some tan this summer. I'm actually outside tanning as I write this. >Do you think self-improvement is worth it? Absolutely I'm just a mess and have no energy right now.
If anyone has any advice for me to prepare for college and give myself some energy and motivation I would love to hear it.
Who knew robots had so much to complain about? Most of this shit is just caused by overthinking. Chill out bots. Everything is in its right place as a certain britbong might sing.
Pic related is a crock of shit. All humans decay at similar rates and we all die. Everything in the material universe will crumble. The only thing lasting is the transcendent realm of peace, stillness and quite. You know this in your heart yet your attachment to your desires makes you fear you have something to lose. Give up what you never had to gain infinite love and acceptance user. The Trimurti are "your" literal body, soul and mind and light up the universe from the darkness of the void. Why do you scorn them? Endless tranquility and perfect presence and clarity of mind like a candle with no wind awaits if you could merely see how easy it is. Absolute bliss unstained, unsullied, purer than any material phenomenon, right now. This instant. Forever.
"Oh look out the crazy guys here" this avatar makes no difference. People have always been averse to the dhamma and when there is spiritual ignorance i decend to right the balance.

>be myself What does this mean to you? It seems like different people interpret this differently when it comes to actually putting it into practice. >every time you feel you're better and have changed you revert to how you always were and feel like more trash than before This is what puts me off of self-improvement too. I'll go on kicks where I try to overhaul my life, and then it seems like suddenly I fall right back into that hole. I've noticed that over time, though, a few small changes will stick with me and that's resulted in a very gradual improvement overall. I think that makes all the misguided attempts worth it. Managing expectations is important though.
There is an ignorance I suppose. I have no idea what the he'll you're talking about. I'm assuming Hinduism but I've never really looked into that.

I've fell for the self improvement meme a lot. Used to call it a meme but I did not realize that something came along with it: self esteem. Yeah sure lifting for years, producing music, knowing languages, being good at drawing, taking care of my looks, etc never got me laid, but in the bright side I'm pretty comfortable with myself nowadays.
Jaxson Fisher
>What's bothering you about the state of your life right now? My body as i think i have body dysmorphia >Do you have long-term goals? Get in the best shape of my life >Do you have short-term goals? Get a girlfriend >Are you currently working to change anything? yeah going to the gym 5 times a week >Do you think self-improvement is worth it? most of the times yes but i have moments when im down and i think not
Ryder Sanchez
Why self improve if you dont know what your for? Its like buffing a car that will never take you anywhere? One thing i noticed is so many introverts want to be normies and this causes them psychological pain. Maybe you should be an introvert. Look into what interests you. Understand your passion and passions or motivations or lack there of.
There are two sides to everything. Take "lack of motivation" this can also be said as lack of ambition and we all remeber what ambition did to mcbeth right? Pride cometh before the fall. So why not find a way to term this lack to your advantage. If your not motivated to do it and you don't have to to survive, why do it? Your betraying yourself and atman imo if you act for any other reason than just the desire to do the act itself free of its consequences and results.
Juan Lopez
>What does this mean to you? It seems like different people interpret this differently when it comes to actually putting it into practice. it's like whenever I'm around someone else I instantly jump into another pair of shoes, out of lack of self esteem or hating myself or something for example, I made the best friend I've ever had this year and have never hated myself so intensely until after every time I was around him - feeling like a circus monkey dancing around for his entertainment it makes me fucking sick, it made me start cutting myself like some teenage girl. I'm even trying to move universities just to get away from him. Same story goes for every interaction, it's like some foreign creature infiltrates my mind whenever I speak, and leaves me feeling disgusting and violated and skin crawling if I'm not myself I'd rather just be alone and I don't want to be alone for a second longer than I have been.
Jackson Allen
that's when it started for me too, and I'm not that far ahead. Have you seen a doctor?

>What's bothering you about the state of your life right now? I'm neglecting my physical, mental, emotional, and psychological needs, partially because I've stopped taking my meds and staying alive is difficult right now. >Do you have long-term goals? Finish uni, work/intern at dream place, get rich. >Do you have short-term goals? Finish this online class that'll determine whether or not I progress academically or have to wait another year to do anything. >Are you currently working to change anything? Nah. >Do you think self-improvement is worth it? Definitely. As soon as I got out of high school (last year) I lost 40 pounds, got defined and lost my virginity, got laid with my high school crush, and now have a gf who cares about me a lot.
I'm self aware about all my problems and I know that just giving a little more effort could land me in a drastically better scenario than I'm in right now, but I physically and emotionally cannot care. If I score a C+ or higher in this class I'm pretty much on the road to happiness, but I've been drained of care for the past 5 years. I'm only alive because of my girlfriend and my academics, if I fail this class my dad said he'll basically disown me and kick me out and I don't want my gf to deal with my issues so I'll just kill myself like I've wanted to do since I was 5.
Jace Walker
Forgot to add, this class is one of the hardest my university is offering, on top of it being online and accelerated, and I joined late because I didn't know I had to take it. School says I have to get at least a C+, dad say's I have to get at least an A-. IIRC even my counselor said that at my state she has never met someone who has gotten higher than a B, but my dad doesn't care.
Dylan Brown
It's too broad stuff to really diagnose. I have some joint pain. I just hurt more. They did figure out I pulled something in my arm so at least that can heal.
Asher Brooks
I didn't think people like your dad existed in real life. He sounds like a cunt

>>What's bothering you about the state of your life right now? My inability to fall asleep is costing me a lot. I generally take about 1-2 hours to fall asleep, I've gotten my first job, and it's a pretty chill schedule compared to the alternatives, 8 AM to 12 AM, then 2 PM to 6 PM, but my inability to fall asleep quickly is making me feel tired despite having an easy schedule. >>Do you have long-term goals? Get better at studying and learning, my new job is a programming one, and I don't feel like I have nearly enough experience, a long-term goal is buying a kindle so I can pirate ebooks and read them just about everywhere I go, also fixing my sleep. >>Do you have short-term goals? Probably just get out a little bit more, be more sociable, the people at the office are all super nice and we've pretty much grown friendly instantly, but they ask me if I wanna go out with them(as a group) and I refuse cuz social anxiety. >>Are you currently working to change anything? Yes, but probably not nearly as much as I should. But fuck man, I'm tired. >>Do you think self-improvement is worth it? Yes, we only have this life, may as life reduce suffering to a minimum, maximize comfyness.

>What's bothering you about the state of your life right now? I'm stuck in a job I hate, I have a largely useless degree (physical sciences), and I likely cannot get into a grad school (cannot afford it anyway). Never had a relationship, but that is the least of my concerns that I will address once a career is in place. Bothers me when I compare my position in life to others though. >Do you have long-term goals? Grad school, PhD if possible. Don't really know the process of how to get into a program. Would rather find a company that would help pay for it, so I don't waste my money or time. >Do you have short-term goals? Find a new job, start lifting again, lose more weight >Are you currently working to change anything? Applying to jobs though I end up refraining from applying to most as have requirements I don't meet (eg. security clearance, 5+ years experience with software that is in-house). Recruiters keep contacting me for jobs I don't want (usually software engi related). I don't have the luxury of being able to interview for each and find out what they want while working 10 hour days. I don't really know what I want to do anymore really. >Do you think self-improvement is worth it? Yes. You can at least control small things in your life. I wallowed in self-pity for too long in college and the like, and it resulted in nothing. The things beyond my immediate control seem to be the things affecting me most though, so any small improvements seem pointless in the long-term. I seem to cycle in and out of those hopeless thoughts.

I honestly thought 2019 was going to be the year I turn it all around, then I lost my job in feb and it's been all downhill since.
I've been working out really consistently for the past three weeks, and I know that if I went home right after work I definitely wouldn't have the motivation to go. I'm working at my university over the summer, and they have a gym, so I've just been changing in a bathroom and heading over there directly at like 5:00, and I haven't missed a day yet. So yeah see if you can go right after work.

I think its the nature of life to improve My main problem is I think I have anxiety

>What's bothering you about the state of your life right now? My wavering focus and independent motivation to do stuff. It's better than it used to be, I've been learning javascript in my free time, but I'm not at the level I want to be at. I also have short (~a few days) episodes of light depression, and I'm in one of them right now. I think I'm better when I work more, so I really need to make an effort to not be lazy and get shit done, at work and/or at home. I should also practice guitar more than I do.
>Do you have long-term goals? Sort of. I'm not sure where exactly I want to end up. I've been flipping between physics, AI research, and entrepreneurship for the past few years, and I need to make up my mind in the next year, when I'll have to apply for grad school.
>Do you have short-term goals? I've been going to the gym recently (I'm ) and that's been working out well, so I want to continue my schedule & build more muscle. I also want to ideally cook at least one new dish every week, which I've been doing well at so far. Would be nice to finish a programming project & start learning tensorflow stuff soon.
>Are you currently working to change anything? Yeah, gym, programming some on my own, been cooking actual food for the first time in my life.
>Do you think self-improvement is worth it? Definitely. Five years ago I was a socially inept dweeb who spent every possible moment on YouTube and here, and I pined after girls. Now I've got great friends, better social skills, and I've been the one turning girls away. I've never felt better.
You can pull yourself out, robots. I believe in you.

hey young anons just turned 35 here. just wanted to say do your best to at least get your physical health to a good place while you're young, and do it the right way, not by yoyoing up and down. lest you end up like me. >35 >2 blood pressure meds >a removed gallbladder (due to rapid weight gain/weight loss throughout my teens/20s) which has severely fucked up my digestive system, and elevated my liver enzymes, which now must be monitored every few months. >all of this despite being a healthy weight and exercising 4-5 nights a week once you open up the box on certain health problems, there is no reversing them. 35 probably seems old to a lot of people, but it comes more quickly than you can possibly imagine. i'm not playing victim, i fucked up and made bad choices in my 20s, but nobody really tells you it can catch up with you as soon as your late 20s/early 30s and the damage may very well be permanent. and nobody expects that a decade should pass so quickly.

I really want to but my knees just hurt and seem misaligned since janruary , whenever I try to excercise I can feel pain building which lasts for days after, . Back also having problems, wrist and arms too. Doesn't seem like this will ever go away and I'm only 20 - what should I do user? I really value you guys' advice Just wish I could at least take walks again, or work out to feel better and less of a slug - it makes me sad, but in the end I'm extremely lucky to have so little to complain about when there are people walking around without legs at all . Describing the symptoms just in case there's someone around who's an expert in this field

>What's bothering you about the state of your life right now? discipline, neet hood, responsibilities disciplines the worst being a depressed hikki for over a decade has instilled some real bad habits >Do you have long-term goals? yea >Do you have short-term goals? yea >Are you currently working to change anything? trying to eat daily & trying to get good at drawing and painting >Do you think self-improvement is worth it? yeah it's been almost 4 months now it gives a certain sense of pride and purpose I otherwise totally lacked - video games dont come close
one thing you can do regardless is make sure your diet is healthy. exercise is not 100% necessary for weight loss (if you need to lose weight), and likely after the weight is lost there will be less joint pain and the like.
second, see about getting referred to a physical therapist for pain, they can help you with low impact exercises and strengthening up the muscles around the problem spots because when they are stronger, the painful part doesn't need to work as hard.
third, have you tried a low impact machine like an exercise bike or elliptical? many gyms have a guest pass you can use, but those bikes are actually pretty cheap to buy and much easier on the joints than walking.

>What's bothering you about the state of your life right now? Don't really see a point to it all, and bothered by the fact that I'm probably gay and probably a tranny, and what that might do to the few good relationships I have with friends and family. >Do you have long-term goals? unJUST my career and potentially switch careers which might mean going to college again >Do you have short-term goals? try dating a guy and try hrt to see if they are things that I like >Are you currently working to change anything? Not really. I need to control my diet more and lose some weight but I lack self control. >Do you think self-improvement is worth it? I don't know, I feel like things are never really improving in the long run
>What's bothering you about the state of your life right now?
I'm getting fat, I'm feeling constantly stressed thanks to my job, I've been having sleep issues, I'm terrible with money (Eating out constantly certainly contributes to it), I procrastinate on even the simplest of things and just being an all around lazy bastard.
>Do you have long-term goals?
Haven't given it much thought. I've never been an ambitious person and all I am interested in is leading a quiet, modest life.
>Do you have short-term goals?
Weight loss is the biggest thing I want to work on. I have my goal set on being in better shape by this winter. I also want to figure out a budget so I don't overspend and have more money to work with.
>Are you currently working to change anything?
As I mentioned, I'm working on weight loss with varying degrees of success. I've been going to the gym more, the problem is I get cravings and feel hungry a lot and I'm trying to figure out how to combat it. My sleep is getting better despite a few bumps in the road I'm also trying to figure out how to beat my procrastination problem.
>I'm getting fat, I'm feeling constantly stressed thanks to my job, I've been having sleep issues, I'm terrible with money (Eating out constantly certainly contributes to it), I procrastinate on even the simplest of things and just being an all around lazy bastard. A-Are you me?

thanks for the reply user, what do you consider to be a healthy diet? I hurt the knees on a rowing machine, already trying to have low impact due to previous shin injury (was pushing with the legs since the picture showed that the muscles should be worked, such an idiot). Not sure how different it would be on any of those machines but haven't tried. In honesty, I'm the type who panics and overreacts to a cut on the finger as if it has HIV. There's probably something I could & should be doing but just sit around using it as an excuse to justify feeling sorry for myself. For that, I'll get my road bike fixed and use it tomorrow, really hope it's fine. Thanks user, I value your experience

>What's bothering you about the state of your life right now? I am pressured from advancing myself in the activities I want to engage myself in believing I am incapable of improvement. That and the inability to properly indulge in society without fear of rejection. >Do you have long-term goals? Get good enough in drawing what I want with no high risk of inconsistency or slow pace. Just know immediately how something should look from the start and shit out what I visualize at any perspective. No questioning anything. >Do you have short-term goals? Just having a min-wage job to get by for now to later worry about how to grow from that after. Right now is just having a job at all part. I'm fearful that no place will accept me and I'm shit out of luck. >Are you currently working to change anything? No but I need to. Consciously I believe trying will do the trick as anyone would but physically I'm in this state where even that won't help and I need to figure out how to break this. It affects everything about me. >Do you think self-improvement is worth it? It is essential but I refrain myself reluctantly.

honestly calories in and calories out is probably the best casual gauge for healthy diet, but i'm sure Jow Forums would be a good place to get started to get some ideas about macros and micros and all that shit. i've found a vegetarian diet works for me because it keeps the cholesterol down and is better for my heart/liver, but i am heavy on fiber and protein from other sources. unfortunately the years just keep piling on as we continue making excuses for ourselves. taking action sounds good, but also have to be careful not to overdo it by going from 0-100 overnight. it's worth doing though. even though it always feels "too late", it really isn't and it's always going to get later. good luck user.

>What's bothering you about the state of your life right now? Having to live with my parents. They're not bad people, but we're simply put different: they're noisy, and noise gives me strong headache and negative thoughts. The rare days when I have the entire house just for me are the only ones that I'm productive. Plus, I got severe OCD, and altho it doesn't get any better atleast now I know where my limits are. I'm planning on ask for therapy in a few weeks after I tie up stuff. >Do you have short-term goals? Yes, they help me get through the day. I have this note where I put down every little but important to do. >Are you currently working to change anything? I am doing my best, but OCD doesn't help doing it fast, neither what I mentioned about my parents. I spent most of my days just lying in bed wishing I wasn't that weak towards external influences, and crying. Anyway, I'm happy to say that I've improved a lot in recent times, but there's still plenty to do tho. After I tie up a few things I'll try hard to keep it up with a daily routine I've already designed, hoping it will help get things better. >Do you think self-improvement is worth it? At this point is basically that or suicide, so yes!

>>What's bothering you about the state of your life right now?
I'm very lonely. I have no friends IRL. Engaged to my childhood friend who I honestly love more like a brother than an actual lover. Unemployed by necessity (Basically a homesteader). Had old romantic feelings that have been under control for over a decade explode because she said "Where are we going?"
>>Do you have long-term goals?
Pretty standard lose excess fat. Meeting online friend next spring/summer.
>>Do you have short-term goals?
By the end of July I plan to be below 200 lbs. I'll have to bust my ass but it's not unobtainable.
>>Are you currently working to change anything?
I've been working out an hour a day for 3 weeks and have dropped 8 lbs. I've done the weight loss thing before so it's easy for me to hit my goals. I can't change anything else in my life right now without hurting a lot of people.
>>Do you think self-improvement is worth it?
Definitely. If you can look in the mirror and like the person looking back at you even being completely alone in the world can be tolerable. I'm speaking from experience.

I measured. 5-3/4 hours a night. Also there's a significant amount of average variation of sleep duration - 2-3/4 hours a night. Sleep quality is poor and I wake up during the night. I do shift work.
I sleep about an hour less than average... 3 hours short of the average ideal... with a lot more variation. It's not the most extreme case of insomnia and I can hold it together but it's still meaningfully impairing. I genuinely am working hard to resolve it yet it is a bitch.
It's likely disability related.. I have the 'tism... and also related to stimulant medications for other issues. I've developed a searing rage towards anybody who recommends melatonin because every other fucking person recommends it.

>What's bothering you about the state of your life right now? A lot. I know what to do but don't know how to execute things. I'm tired of being scared of speaking out, but I don't have the confidence to speak out. Therapy helped a little but I'm falling back. I can't figure out how to look at people or how to form meaningful connections with them. This makes them not take me seriously and I end up more disappointed. It's a loop. >Do you have long-term goals? I'm training to be a developer. Once that is done I'll have higher studies, and then get into research. I can only do all of them if I have a good paying job. >Do you have short-term goals? To complete the said training. >Are you currently working to change anything? Yes. But they fail all the time. I have come to the conclusion and the core issue of mine, that I cannot figure out people socially. I don't know what to do to make them accept me as part of "their team". >Do you think self-improvement is worth it? Yes! A lot, but if you don't know what is wrong with you, you have to take time to figure out what's wrong, arrive at the core issue and then tackle it.

>>What's bothering you about the state of your life right now? too much, for starters, today I haven't eaten anything, I haven't showered in around maybe a week but who knows, time doesn't really make much sense, I'm majorly mentally ill and will soon be applying for disability I hope >>Do you have long-term goals?
