Why do so many christians tell us we have to love ourselves? explain these verses then assholes

why do so many christians tell us we have to love ourselves? explain these verses then assholes.

Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. - Jesus

John 12:25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. - Jesus

>god didnt really mean what he said

why do so many christians say this?

By hate he means love less than himself

The point is that in the original Gnostic Christianity, before St. Paul got to it and it became Judeo-Christianity, Christians were called on to be against materialism, hedonism, humanism, and other things that Judaism stands for. Part of that is the ability to renounce your life and things that are subjective to you.

Are we saved by believing and repenting, or by self-knowledge? or both

lol whatever. It's all retardation and bad translations anyway, you're going to be religious anyway, even if you don't believe in big G. Ideology and morals are just as bad.

For Lk. 14:26 I think we might need more context. Jesus might be saying something like, if a man comes to me and says he has never felt hate or entertained a hateful thought before then he is either an idiot or a liar. Jesus is reminding us to be honest and humble about even our most evil desires. Jesus was all about forgiveness. If people didn't need forgiveness then there is no point to him. Hence, they could not be his disciple.

OP doesn't understand literary devices

it means that you should love everyone even youself, but in john 12:25 it speaks of life but not self, if you hate your life as to not being attached to it, you will be able to trascend, not wishing or longing for corporeal or material things on your life; the only way says Jesus and explains on this verses, is to love so much, you are willing to give your life for others. and thats something he himself did

by hate he means love. you gotta love yourself bro. love yourself, have sex with bitches, and smoke weed.!!!!! only satan wants you to be chaste and follow rules.

You're saved simply if you are morally good. Jesus gave many examples in the beatitudes of how you ought to act if you want to be saved. "Sins" as of the concept in Judaism like, going to temple without washing first, are irrelevant.

But he says we have to believe as well

>Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son (John 3:18)

Well fuck me then dude I'm not a Christian anyway. There goes my theory out the window

cope-ori

pretty sure you just have to have faith that jesus died on the cross for our sins, and you're good. people focusing on the little details of the bible are the reason theres so many fucking denominations of the christian faith.

Its referring to an inner presence called the Father that has to be merged with for tots realization through constant meditation and disregard for outer forms because the I AM becomes and is the nature of all things; an all pervading essence.

I AM the way and the life

>The only thing you need to do to go to Heaven is accept Jesus. Nothing else is necessary.

Protestants have destroyed Christianity.

Attached: soy.gif (800x800, 230K)

most christians are deluded normies, all normies go to hell and they cant cope with it so they create lies, the only thing they hate is the truth

You have to put Christ first, before even yourself, if you want to follow after Him. Likewise, you must love God before the things of the world to inherit the kingdom of Heaven.
Gnosticism is spiritual poison.

>John 12:25

user read the entire chapter to get the context and what verse 25 really means. Here's the ending of the chapter.

44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.

45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.

46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

Jesus is saying that if you believe in him with all your heart and walk in the light, the light being the Holy Spirit that fills you, you shall be saved.

You want to love yourself user? Easy. Seek the Lord and he shall find you. The rest comes naturally. The Holy Spirit literally guides you where you need to go in life and soon you will feel happy.

This is why bad things never happen to Christians. The Holy Spirit guides them right to their slow, lingering deaths of cancer.

God says that his believers will go through many trials and tribulations. Satan hates Christians the most. He is at war with them. When a Christian is banned from many countries for simply preaching from the bible, it is proof that they have faith.

I think you meant bad things never happen to false Christians like Catholic's, which is paganism, and Mormons etc.

KJV is the true Word of God. Death is only the result of SIN being brought INTO the world. It was Satan who decieved Adam and Eve to eat the forbidden fruit and to bring Sin in the world.

So yes Christians die, but that was Man's fault for disobeying God from the start.

Before that, death did not exist. Study the Bible user and be saved through our Lord Jesus Christ. Wisdom will be given to you.

Life is just a step to Paradise.

John 18:36

Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world."

Be careful of all the Gods (which are all Satan) and false prophets.

YAWEH/ALLAH are both Satan. As a matter of fact even the GOD in the old testament (in the bible) is Satan.
7
A true Christian just shall read the 4 gospels and follow Jesus' teachings.

But it isn't actually what He said - it's a translation of a translation.
Jesus said it in Aramaic.
Luke, after talking to people who'd heard Jesus say it, wrote it in Greek.
It was later translated (rather badly) into English.

People like think the KJV is the true word of God, but it's quite distorted.

>Jesus spoke Aramaic
>The Gospels were all written decades after the life of Jesus by people who never met him
>Jesus had kids with Mary Magdalene

Attached: soy wojak3.png (630x384, 190K)

neither you saved by his grace and the fact that he's so merciful that he lets you have a way (his son)

You are committing blasphemy by accusing God of being Satan.
Please repent!

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Look up the Textus Receptus and the history of how the KJV Bible was translated with 99% accuracy.

The distorted Bible's are the ESV, and NIV. These are only 2 of hundreds of "new" translations. They literally have MISSING verses

Sorry those verses were from Revelation chapter 22

Funny that an all-powerful God can't keep Satan from torturing the saved. It's almost like being saved has no benefit at all in this world other than easily-fabricated promises about the hereafter.

God respects free-will. Man makes their own choices. Satan is simply a tool by God to weed out the non-believers from the believers. If you read the ending of Revelations. You will see that God can VERY easily destroy Satan and is cast into the lake of fire after he loses the battle of Gog and Magog. If you study that battle that comes in the future, you'll see how laughable Satan really is.

>Jesus spoke Aramaic
It was the main language of the region in which Jesus lived. He also knew Hebrew, and probably Egyptian and Greek too.

>The Gospels were all written decades after the life of Jesus...
True.

...by people who never met him
Not always true, but true in the case of Luke.

>Jesus had kids with Mary Magdalene
Very unlikely. Were that the case, Jesus would have stayed around a lot longer after the resurrection.

Where is it implied God can't stop Satan?
>It's almost like being saved has no benefit at all in this world
This world is one of sin and degeneracy, being a Christian will lead to plenty of trials and conflicts in this life, the Bible makes that clear.

>They literally have MISSING verses

Missing from the NIV

God was trying to be edgy here; there are of Saints who had a loving relationship with their parents, and Jesus himself had a good one with at least his mother. It was said make loving God so much more important than loving your parents, to the point that it would appear to be hatred.

*there are plenty of saints
*it was said to make god so much more important than loving your parents

>Satan is simply a tool by God to weed out the non-believers from the believers.

If that's the case why does Satan seem to have equal power over both?

>f you read the ending of Revelations. You will see that God can VERY easily destroy Satan and is cast into the lake of fire after he loses the battle of Gog and Magog.

The back of this metal album claims that God will lose the battle of Gog and Magog. How could I ever determine which is right?

>If you study that battle that comes in the future, you'll see how laughable Satan really is.

There's a lot to study about a battle that hasn't happened yet between forces that do not exist.

Then there's no point to going through all the effort of being Christian, if it will just lead to no rewards in this world and the same rewards every religion claims about the afterlife.

If it's so simple, just explain it in plain terms.

Why would God support racism if all are his children?

He doesn't have equal power over both. Only people without the Holy Spirit fall for the Devil's tricks. Ephesians 6 verse 10-24

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

21 But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:

22 Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.

23 Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

Not entirely missing from the NIV - my copy has them as footnotes. They're omitted from the main text because many of the manuscripts the translation is from also omit them.

Because even parents have kids who are their favorites and kids who they hate.

Attached: 14 words.png (949x949, 1.5M)

Good parents don't.

Still not counting the hundreds of other tranlsations. Also there's a reason why old english is much better. If you read with modern english it can be interpreted incorrectly.

So cancer is one of the devil's tricks? How do you not fall for cancer?

Don't apply human qualities to God. He's perfect in all ways. God would not create someone to instantly condemn them for the way he designed them.

Romans 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

Psalm 5:5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

>GOD LOVES EVERYONE GUYS!!! WE ARE ALL HIS CHILDREN!!!

Attached: God.jpg (730x1024, 135K)

user, God obviously created Cancer and every disease known to man. You need to understand that Death is a RESULT of Sin. God warned man NOT to eat the forbidden fruit but Man rebelled and listened to Satan and ate the fruit. That is why Cancer was allowed on this Earth.

However Satan uses these diseases also but in a different way. For example 5G. Not God's creation. But Satan's. 5G literally causes cancer and fries your DNA. Corrupting God's creations with deathbeams of radiation.

So then why would God create people more likely to be "workers of iniquity" based on their genes alone? Can't he just not make those people?

>God obviously created Cancer

Why? What purpose did it serve before the Fall of Man? And how can God protect believers from Satan but not from 5G?

>God made me gay!!!

You have free will faggot.

Attached: nu male.jpg (532x614, 93K)

I don't think free will can change your race though

I'm talking about black people.

Go back to Africa/Mexico/Vietnam. Nothing's stopping you.

What does location have to do with anything? You said God hates certain races.
and these quotes are taking about behavior, not uncontrollable traits like race

He's a "make claims about God now, desperately look things up in Scripture later" kind of Christian.

you're "beasts of the field" you don't have souls. you're mud people.

Generally the same applies to other translations, but I'm not going through them all to check.

And for interpretation, modern english is far superior to old english. The idea that it can't be interpreted incorrectly if you read with old english is quite absurd - archaic words are no less ambiguous, but we're less familiar with their meanings.

So then why aren't mud people without souls explicitly mentioned in scripture and why does the Holy Catholic Church recognize the humanity of all races?

Sheep and cows are beasts of the field - and even they still have souls.

The idea that any race of people are "beasts of the field" is one of Satan's deceptions.

This is why both Catholics and Protestants have both seen the value of missionary work. Only the Mormons denied the humanity of certain races, and then they went back on it, further proof they're not truly Christian.

Simply not true user. The KJV is the most accurate translation. Any other version simply cannot be trusted. It's a sin to add or remove or change verses. The people who created those books are literally cursed.

It's a sin except for Athanasius and the First Council of Nicaea, you mean. If the Gospel of Judas had been canon Christianity would be a very, very different religion.

That Council was a gathering of false prophets and wicked idolaters to control the masses as they do now.

The Gospel of Judas along with other false doctrines like the (((Book of Enoch)) were (((coincidently))) dug up in the last century because Satan needs to bring in the Anti-Christ. He needs to get people away from the word of God.

Tell me user, if God wants you to have these words, why would he hide them for thousands of years? Why would God not prepare his servants?

*coincidentally

Origin

Why didn't God give the words you have now to Adam and Eve when they left the Garden? Why wait a couple thousand years, write half, wait another thousand years and then write the other half, large parts of that second half being which parts of the first half actually matter?

Seems to me God has very poor communication skills.

Wrong.
Ephesians 2:8
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--

Well the Bible is also an accurate book of historical events. I can never try to think or try to make sense of how God decides things because I am not God. And nobody ever can be. An unsaved person can read the Bible cover to cover and still not understand a thing. Because you require the Holy Spirit to actually interpret the Bible. Take his word for it and habe faith

>An unsaved person can read the Bible cover to cover and still not understand a thing. Because you require the Holy Spirit to actually interpret the Bible.

Then why bother with having a fucking Bible in the first place? If you believe this, then anyone can claim the Bible means anything because "the Holy Spirit told me so." For example, Ephesians 1:18 says:

>I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.

The Holy Spirit has revealed to me that this means that's OK to be gay and trans, and that Jesus was both. If you disagree with me you have been mislead by Satan.

I have the same mug as this image although I look a trillion years younger

>shitskins steal my holy +++ sigils and converts it to ... a signal for my peoples genocide as other shitskins try stealing my identity

I have every reason to hate shitskins

>rolls a 6695

Lel race mixing shitskins goto hell

Faggotry is punishable by death according to God please just take the time to actually read it

You completely missed my point. Hold on a second, the Holy Spirit is revealing the meaning of another verse to me!

>You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination (Lev 18:22)

This verse clearly means that you're a fucking mongoloid retard with no reading comprehension. I don't know how Satan could have seduced you into believing otherwise. I guess you just didn't have enough faith.

>IT'S ALL ABOUT INTERPRETATION!!!!

Attached: soyboy starter pack.gif (800x600, 144K)

Hey, it wasn't mean that claimed you needed the Holy Spirit to hold your hand through the Bible. I'm more than happy to accept the literal meaning, which is dumb enough to make you want to just get another book and claim it's your holy book. "Identifying Wood" may not be a gripping read but at least you can actual read it right without divine intervention.
