Do people who like anime literally low IQ...

Do people who like anime literally low IQ? If you compare any anime to the great works of literature you'll see that the former is extremely badly-written and only a drooling retard could take them seriously. The anime I rewatched seems so childish it's difficult that a person with any intelligence would enjoying watching them, or is it just that they have some sort of autism?

Anime is garbage user, especially those who have anime profile pics.

Define "intelligence" because it sounds like you have a circular definition problem:

>People who like X are intelligent
>Why are people who don't like X unintelligent?

Do people who like TV literally low IQ? If you compare any TV to the great works of literature you'll see that the former is extremely badly-written and only a drooling retard could take them seriously. The anime I rewatched seems so childish it's difficult that a person with any intelligence would enjoying watching them, or is it just that they have some sort of autism?

For me, I am able to filter out bad stuff in a show if it has some good concepts. Pretty much everything has something decent hidden in there if you look although a mass of tropes and cliches hide it from plain view.

You're generalizing a vast kind of art based on having watched an entry level anime or two. Your post is as low iq as saying all music is bad because after listening to Justin Bieber and XXXTentacion you found out it was poorly written compared to Baudelaire.

Anime is a medium no different than film or literature. Just because there are picture books with cheesey kids story would you discount the works of C.S. Lewis? It's no different.

Nah whats going on here is youre a pseud who cant see noone is taking anime seriously. It simply is another way to pass time. Basically fuck your shit Fun Things Are Fun yes its your autism too

It's not about a question of defining intelligence, it's just that if you take any anime and you have any sense of discernment and good judgement, you'll see that what you're watching is extremely badly-written and overrall bad. Even those anime series that are considered the best are mediocre if you have a judging and discerning eye. The plot, the characters, the repetitive soundtrack, the preposterous events, the lack of originality in almost everything, and just don't get me started on the shallowness of the characters and their lack of psychological depth.

I liked anime as a child but rewatching them, I cannot help but cringe every 2 minutes. It's just.... so mediocre.

I've tried watching anime over and over again, switching between series, looking on animelists the anime considered the best, and I can't help but to notice they're all thrash no matter how you look at it.

No shit, its a medium mainly targeted at kids and teenagers. A huge part of the appeal is also the art, animation, music, etc, not just the writing.

My guess is that autists have trouble understanding human psychology, people and social situations and anime makes it really clear for the autists to pick on the social cues and that's why the anime fandom is filled with autists.

What's the least shitty and the most overrated series in your opinion if you don't mind me asking?

Ganketsou is much better than the original Count of Monte Cristo

All series suck, but Welcome to the NHK is nice.

Anime that's actually good are films, I don't get how you can fucking stand watching super long anime series like fucking Naruto or Bleach. They suck and are extremely repetitive.

Define "discernment and good judgement" because it sounds like you have a circular definition problem:

>People who like X have discernment and good judgement
>Why don't people who don't like X have discernment and good judgement?

I can keep this up all day until you come up with an articulation of your problem that dosen't boil down to "Why don't I like people who like a thing I don't like?"

Ever heard of this little thing called "Suspension of Disbelief"? It mainly works in cinema and other mediums, in anime.... Eh, not so much. Except if you're a kid, that is.

you know sometimes youre an uppity little bitch kierky, but youve really grown on me. your posts are getting better. your trolling is more professional. you can defend your opinions better. youre gonna be OK, kid.

also to answer your question, not necessarily. anime is stupid bullshit but autists are drawn to it as a means of replacing human interaction. you have to forgive them for not indulging in the great works of literature, for they are emotionally stunted, and have no appreciation for the struggles of their fellow man.

>using shonen anime as an example
No shit you're watching bad anime. It's stuff aimed at prepubescent kids, it's not supposed to entertain an adult. There's a lot of perfectly good seinen stuff out there dealing with the adult world and deeper moral dilemmas.

Death note, Your name, maquia, Wolf children, promised never land.
These shows cannot be low IQ.

I tried watching Koe no Katachi and "adult" anime, and they mostly suck, with the exception of a few anime films like MINDGAME and Walk on girl, the Night is Short and Your Name.

>Death note
AHAHSAHAHAHHA. That shit is awful, I liked it as a kid, now it's just cringe.

>Your name
Now this one is actually based. It's a great movie, almost a masterpiece.

>maquia
cringy, badly-written, overemotional melodramatic fantasy garbage written by a woman. Whoever made this should be ashamed.

The rest I haven't watched so I can't judge.

Monster
Berserk
Satoshi Kon
lot's more
>Death note
kek your proving ops point

Thank you, user. Yeah, I'm getting better as time goes on. You can count on me.

I recommend you watch Shinsekai Yori. I think its your cup of tea.

>or is it just that they have some sort of autism

Yes

This is why there is no subtlety in conversations in anime and everyone reacts with the most overboard and extreme emotional reactions

Specifically so even autists will understand it

this. anime has extremely overt facial expressions and the characters always say exactly what they're thinking or what they mean. there's no ambiguity and having to read into subtle cues

I think right now, about as much anime is produced for otaku only (late night series) as for kids and teens. A lot of those are basically commercials for merch and/or games, especially cell phone games.

Comparing anime to "the great works of literature" is fundamentally pretty dumb. 100s of years of writing worldwide vs ~40 years of TV from one small country. And anime is expensive enough to produce that most series are aiming to make their money on merch, which means that they'll focus on making 'waifu' type characters and stories that are hard to dislike. Complexity and challenge aren't the goal.

You might like Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu or Tatami Galaxy (for writing) or The Woman Called Fujiko Mine, Beladonna of Sadness, or Mononoke (aethetics). I agree with you that most anime series are pretty meh plot-/character-wise. But it's TV, right?

Japanese live-action TV and popular movies are like this too. Not sure if cultural preferences or just writer laziness.

I can get some enjoyment by treating them like kids shows. In America a lot of older animes were marketed as such, and if you put yourself in the mind of a younger you with Saturday morning cartoon Network and your toast with jam... You feel nonstalgic. It's not for everyone, though. And yes. Most unironic weebs probably have tism. I love the bait hook pic. Really subtle.

>Death Note
>The Great Gatsby
>The Titanic
i dunno all seem equally shit

The entertainment you enjoy has nothing to do with your intelligence, this is just something pseudo-intellectual losers use to make themselves feel better.
It's literally ridiculous and cope to think otherwise.
