Master of puppets did not hold up to the test of time and it honestly is only liked by boomers and ironic metal heads. Every ofher album by them is fine but that one.

So we just gonna ignore that this nigga just implied St. Anger is unironically better than Master Of Puppets

>recorded incorrectly; the drums sound like a weird clicking

i'm not going to bother reading this thread but i know you all have bad taste.

holy fuck is that samson? whatcha drinking

To be frank, Metallica is all garbage tier. Megadeth is good, as another user suggested, but thrash in general has been played out.
Metal needs a new messiah to bring guitar music back into the mainstream. Too bad modern musicians are fucking garbage at putting on a show.

st anger is awful.
Hardwired... to Self-Destruct is probably the best "new" albums, post the black album

It is quite boring, in fact, most of metallica is just old metal. Was important and we cant credit them enough but thats it.

I liked a couple songs off of that but I still have a thing for Death Magnetic. It was the first album of theirs I listened to when I first got into them (it was like 2008, I was a kid and going to that tour blew my fucking mind).

Check out Hammerhedd on youtube, upcoming young stars of metal

I never liked master of puppets. Sad but true is my favourite.

Metal shouldn't be mainstream imo. A genre being mainstream leads to corporate interference and exploitation.

>I still have a thing for Death Magnetic. It was the first album of theirs I listened to when I first got into them
Me too dude, I still think it's a great album and their best after the classics. Still got the CD somewhere around here. Crazy to think that was 11 years ago.

Hardwired is dogshit. Death magnetic is clearly superior

Which is exactly what Metallica (and really Thrash as a whole) was railing AGAINST in the early days.

I'm not an expert on metal by any means but I really liked Ice Nine Kills' most recent album The Silver Scream.

Great kids, good on them.
They're too inexperienced for a jazz aficionado like myself, though. In a good 5-10 years, they'll have nuances I appreciate a lot more, and I'll feel they come into their own.
>implying music has ever not been corporate
Boy.
I saw INK live, not the biggest fan but dig the horror gimmick. Actually saw them on Warped Tour before they had a good act together; they do pretty good.

I guess my overall issue is there's nothing in the modern acts that makes the music feel like it stands out from a gigaton shitblock of other metal music.

Master of Puppets was the only good song on that album. Ride the Lightning is clearly the best Metallica album. The Black Album & Death Magnetic are also great

leper messiah is boring as shit too
