well my friend the solution is simple but it's not easy. you're going to have to consciously learn to speak in a way that doesn't shut down a conversation. the best way to learn how is going to be through attempting conversation.
However, you seem to be pretty good at talking to people in this thread. just carry that over to conversations and you can make it work.

well actually you have less time in a thread like this to come up with your response. you have to keep in mind the bump limit and that if you take too long to reply to someone they might have left the thread already.
You can "discard" a person like a thread too, if you really feel like you don't enjoy talking to them just tell them and unfriend them. That way you're not really leaving them hanging and wondering compared to if you had just ghosted them like a meanie.
You can't avoid friendships being less personal than an imageboard though. That's why people have friends, it feels nice to have an intense connection with someone else. Someone you can talk to everyday, play games with, or just do something together.
