Why aren't these guys funny anymore?

Jon was funny at one point. Ethan, however, was never funny. At his best he did slightly humorous satirical bits that had been done a million times before (ones that didn't require dated memes to make it "funny" at the time.) You merely enjoyed being a part of something, i.e. his fanbase.

H3h3 has always been utter shit in my opinion. Every video is so bland and boring. Everything jontron made after his dino city video and before he stopped reviewing games is still relativley funny to this day.

Ethan is honestly the luckiest man on the platform, managing to achieve massive success while lacking any kind of comedic charm or wit and getting by thanks to having friends in higher places and getting lucky with the timing of his leafy drama.

I'm 21 and thought jontron was funny when I was 12-15. Looking back, he wasn't funnier, just more genuine; his videos weren't open advertisments. Never thought h3h3 was particularly funny though. I probably would have if they were around when I was younger.

Ethan most certainly fell from grace, plus there is an aspect of growing up that makes some of his older stuff not as funny in hindsight. I'd say the exact opposite happened with JonTron, I was never really a huge fan of him but I've watched a lot of his newer stuff lately and it's been really good.

last year he moved into a professional studio that has a whole bunch of production staff and actors. it all just feels so fake and artificial, his jokes seem forced now rather than natural, and his channel has a whole corporate feel to it now.

I never found Ethan funny, even back in his supposed golden years (2014-16). He always seemed to me like a boomer trying to appear hip and cool to the kids.
What about the guys in pic related? I used to think they were super funny in 2016, but I recently rewatched some of their old stuff and it's super cringy and just plain unfunny. Maybe it's just because dated memes (my nama chef, nothing like a good nut, figger naggot, autism autism autism) are cringy in themselves? Or were they never funny to begin with, but we liked their videos because it provided us losers with a sense of belonging when we were teenagers?

ian was, and still is, the best of them. still makes great content.

Max barley uploads on his main two channels now, only on his third one for Pokemon shit. Other then that though he lives a pretty good life with his girlfriend and does the Cold Ones podcast with Chad, I miss his videos though.
