I've lived in mass for 5 years now. I like Boston (minus the cost of living), I love the outdoor activities. The level of Taxes, byzantine regulation, and hyper """Resistance""" types is repulsing, not to mention the winter. I grew up in NH which in retrospect is one of my favorite places in the US. Thankfully I'll be heading to the south west soon so no more Mass for me

I'm from Narragansett. I love where I live. It's nice year round and we have a sort of local feeling still. I used to work for the block island ferry but i eventually joined the army after realizing that i didn't want to be another wage slave. with my contract nearing its close, i'm sure i'll go back for a little while, but i'm not sure i'll settle down there..

In addition, all three northern NE states are great. VT is little to crunchy hippie at times (especially near Burlington), and Maine beaches are overrated, but theystill have a lot to offer. RI has GOAT NE beaches, and Mass has a lot of cultural institutions and education opportunities, but my god, fuck CT. At least anything SW of, and including, Hartford. Almost every CT person I have ever met has been weird as fuck...

I was born in RI. Left when I was five, grew up in georgia. My whole family is from woonsocket, and every couple of years we would go visit.

EB should steady work, steady pay, not too exciting but a man's trade. Most of those big defense companies gave apprentice programs, probably more accessible for vets. Look into windmill tech work, no idea how it pays but should be interesting. The big electrical union in MA is all in on renewables.
You can make solid money in any union trade in Ma/Ri if you can make some connections to get a foot in the door.
