Tauren are pretty op with herbalist.
Potions are a very important part of classic.
Social relations in raids are much more intense cuz every wipe costs you potions which are expensive and everybody has to spend quite some time getting enough of them to raid

The player base will be pretty much the same.
A lot of people will just play a few weeks for the hype and then move on to something more exciting or modern wow because its more usefriendly.
Only oldfags who get really cought up in the nostalgia will stay, after a year theyll probably give you a free server transfer to concentrate playerbase.

The big draw for me was a group of people that I played another MMO with who decided to move over to WoW when it released. The game itself was nothing special. I haven't played since the middle of the panda expansion, and I don't miss it.
