I am actually on my way home from Japan, and all in all, I think it is really similar to Canada. There are little things I like better, such as less slutty women, less open degeneracy, slightly more politeness, but none of this is enough for me to care to move there and learn Japanese.
Canada has some shitty gun laws, but I would consider it the second best country to live in. Fairly free for now. I would prefer the USA, and I just might move there if Trudeau is re elected.
Anyway, what do people think is so different about Japan? Neither my sister nor I noticed any large differences. It just seems like a normal developed first world country, culturally speaking.

Oh yeah, spectacularly beautiful country. I come from the prairies, and Japan really is beautiful. I think it is really cool how jungle-y it is. Too hot and humid for my taste though. Its great, but I am just too used to cool and dry Alberta.
