I'm working to unionize my workplace. You're right, capitalism is extremely difficult to fight, but what can be done now is building up class consciousness among the working class and doing all one can with reformism and collective bargaining to improve condition

user, many evils of capitalism (like slavery) are fruit of an anterior economical system. Slavery can be dated from the ancient slave system (Egypt, Babylon, ...) and capitalist ended it (because it got ineffective)

Obviously capitalism is a more just system than feudalism and monarchy is a more just system than autocracy. That's central to Marxist thinking, that society progresses forward as a whole. That doesn't mean capitalism is just and it doesn't mean it didn't bring its own "innovation" in certain modes of oppression. Chattel slavery as it existed in the West was hereditary, permanent, and carried no rights with it. No ancient system of legal slavery held these traits in common, at least not all three. Ancient slaves could only have so much done to them by their master, and specifically could not be arbitrarily killed. In most systems there was an end to slavery and their children would not inherit it.

Capitalism is the material successor of feudalism, feudalism is the materiel successor of slavery/conquest system (Rome) and so on.
Capitalism takes more from you than feudalism or slavery, but it does it in a very different manner.
What can be said is that capitalist continues to exploit workers, it just changed the exploiting method from slavery to alienation.
