Why do people born in 1999 try to insert themselves into the "last of the old school"?

I'm born 99, wish I were a zoomer.

Because they have no other even slightly interesting qualities.

If you don't remember where you were on 9/11 then you're a zoomer

I was in WTC 7 wearing a secret service vest and acting all strange like

Proud zoomer fuck 90s kids

literally anyone born 1995-2004 is generation Z, Millenials are 1985-1994

>Born in 2000
>Have nothing reletable with zoomers
>Too young to be a boomer

1980 - 1995 is boomer
1996 - 2019 is zoomee

Because being old fits into the Sad Relatable Humour(TM) dumb fucks like to use. It's for people who want to act like children but be treated like an adult.

hello, 1987 here
get the fuck off my e-lawn

I was born in 1996 and I fall in a weird category. I was born too late to be a 90s kid but a bit too early to have full access to technology growing up.
I would say I probably am more of a Zoomer than Millennial though.

Im a proud zoomie. The early 2000s (9/11 aside) were great btw

>hey i remember bionicle yeah I was 1 year old, us 90 kids amirite.

do zoomers actually drink coconut water? yuck

>tfw 1984

We all know the old school ended in 1988. ;^)

born in '99 and I know what you mean, guess its based on how rich your parents are as well though, but 96-99 or even 01 are the intermission years for millennials and zoomers

I distinctly remember back in 2012 when gatekeepers came to a conclusion that "true 90s kids" were born 1983-1993, and people born 1999 got made fun of for claiming to be 90s kids.

But now in 2019 you've got all these people on Twitter and Facebook saying "2000-2004 born gang grew up with the EXACT. SAME. STUFF. as 90s kids" and I'm like "People born in 1999 weren't accepted as 90s kids in 2012, but now even 2000-2004 are getting accepted? Wtf?"

I was born in late '97 and I hardly associate with zoomers. I wasn't introduced to the internet until 2005, I grew up on the PS2 generation of consoles, didn't get my first proper smartphone until 2013.

I'd say both you and I fall strongly into the cusp cohort, wherein such technologies zoomers have been acquainted with as long as they remember did exist as we grew up but they weren't as advanced or as ubiquitous as they are now.

We also grew up in an era where social media wasn't absolute cancer and the internet wasn't as censored or as controlled by corporations as it is now.

spacing vs trips

funny how i've been "reddit spacing" since 2012 but people have only started complaining about it in like 2017 onward

98-01 are definitely zoomer. They grew up with Ben 10 and icarly and were still in high school when the Whip Whip nae nae song came out, which marked the start of zoomer music. 96-97 could go either way.

That's what I mean though, its generalising, why I gave it a margin of 4-5 years, I didn't grow up with those shows, but that's probably because I'm british and they were not very big over here, or maybe they were I just didn't watch them. I think I was in college when the whip song was released, 2nd year which I think is senior in the USA, but I'm not sure how your education years work. But I grew up quite lower class, and on older/outdated things, I didn't get a 6th generation console, and then got a Wii in 2008 and xbox in 2013, why I said it might be due to how well of your parents where, or maybe its to due with siblings, I don't know its interesting though.

Cause everything from the 90s still existed in the early 2000s so people born in 95-02 have more in common to 90s kids than to people born after 03

And people born in the mid- and late 2010s have a lot of common with the '90s kids too becuse nostalgia. We can extend that decade forever!

The early 2000s were numerically 2000-2003 retard zoomer. People born around 98-01 wouldn't consciously remember much till 2004-2008, which were mid and late 2000s, not early.

I'm sure most people can remember when they were younger, I have memories from when I was 4 in pre-school, Some people born in early '98 might even remember, if not directly 9/11

It's funny, because I remember a few years back 97 borns were lumped in with 94 borns rather than 99 borns, and considered "early 2000s kids". But now in 2019, they're "undisputed zoomers" with "no memories before 2006". A complete 180 in opinions if I ever saw one
