The 90s and 2000s were so iconic. In comparison what the fuck have the 2010s spawned? Culture has literally become a pool of puke. Here's to hoping the 2020s bring something interesting.

you say that now, but that's what most people thought about the 2000s too, myself included.

Nostalgia's funny like that

>In comparison what the fuck have the 2010s spawned?
*Shrugs

The tacky 80s style came back for a little while until everyone got sick of seeing it everywhere.
That was rad, I guess.

Attached: 428974680style.jpg (630x630, 56K)

But it really wasn't the same. I'm not just speaking out of nostalgia here. Every new piece of technology throughout the 2000s was incredibly cool and hyped and everybody loved it. Internet culture was original and chill and at its peak. In terms of pop culture, you either loved all that shit or you loved to hate it, but one way or another it was pretty fun.
Nowadays the entire world is running dry on common sense and you have people encouraging each other to do stupid shit "ironically" for lulz. Zoomers aren't even dumb, they just don't know any better. Millenials chose to pave the road through a garbage dump.

I'm trying to think of trends in the 10s.
Getting older now so I don't notice that shit so much.

What I remember in the 10s:
Suddenly thousands of podcasts.
The "rise" of e-celebrities. Streamers and shit.
Marvel Movies? Star Wars sequels? Rick and Morty? Bronies? Nerd culture is now normie culture.

Battle royal/ open world survival games.
Bethesda turning to garbage, Blizzard turning to garbage, Valve fading away.

Is there a clothing style specific to the 10s? Ironic T-shirts? Yeezys?
Zoomers wearing huge headphones even when they aren't listening to shit.

yeah...but at least we have minecraft

Stop using any sort of technology except for the topmost important things like calls, texts and other shit you actually HAVE to use technology for. Time will slow down considerably, you will actually go out and do stuff instead of browsing mindless entertainment and you will live life the way it was meant to be lived - before 80% of the population had anxiety and depression. Try doing this for just 8 hours, then gradually increase the time you go without watching a screen. The first few hours are a bitch if you don't have anything to do but you WILL start feeling better and most importantly the weeks won't go by in what feels like no time at all. Stop walking through life in a waking daze

Practice what you preach you fucking niggerfaggot

I remember gangnam style, harlem shake, twerking, dabbing. Arab Spring, refugees, identity politics, Occupy Walstreet. Were girls wearing ugg boots? Do they still do that? And crocs? Moccasins? That weird rockabilly hair early in the 10s. Skrillex cuts too. Yoga pants, lumbersexuals, soibeard. Lots of dyed hair, mostly simple blues at first now crusty, tatted rainbow dreadlocks. Xanax, large scale acceptance and small scale legalization of marijuana in the US. Dubstep, vaporwave, trap. Marvel movies, new Star Wars trilogy. End of the world in 2012. Gay marriage and the Fukushima nuclear accident. Way more mass shootings than ever before, Sandy Hook, Saint Elliot, Batman shooter, Nick Cruz at that Florida school, Orlando nightclub, Saint Nasim visits Youtube HQ, Las Vegas shooter (still don't know his motive). Alex Jones gets more popular, conspiracies are mainstream, unironic flat earthers, more anti-vaxxers. Black Lives Matter, lots of black uproar, Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown. Netflix got big and is dying now. Incels, lots of trannies, Facebook got big then died down a little, tech collusion. GamerGate, Trump, Qfags, fuck I'm tired of this.

Probably lots of shit I missed. Just blowing as many of these memories out as I can so I can forget about this fucking garbage.

>Stop walking through life in a waking daze
Not op but why? Life is meaningless bullshit anyway

bring it on bitchcuntnigger

I'm at work rn. I have next week off and I will attempt to go the whole week without screens. We'll see how it goes
Yes but isn't it better to try and give it meaning yourself?

I did that once for a few months when and ended up just sleeping 18 hours a day, binge eating, and staring at the floor in my room. It was fucking miserable and I had no interest in going outside. Being bored can't overcome my extreme distaste of other people and being seen in public. I realized after those few months that it doesn't matter if I jack off for 12 hours or post here for 12 hours or play video games for 12 hours or read for 12 hours, I will never be a functioning human.

It was the decade where the internet leaked out into real-life. Very exiting stuff.

You seem to be a lost cause. Maybe if you force yourself to go outside for one hour everyday?

Interesting to think about, OP. Looking in back on it now, what has defined this decade, be it political, social, technological or otherwise? And follow up question: what do you think will define the 2020s?

70s and 80s where worse

I don't think internet culture will change by much, if at all, in the '20s, it's been pretty much the same for the last few years, we've hit rock bottom. It's faster but also more stale than ever.

In the 2010s I
>lost my virginity
>met my high school sweetheart
>got married
>purchased my first car
>got pregnant
>joined the army
>graduated college
>lost a child
>got deployed
>became a home owner
>got blown up
>got divorced
>finally worked up the nerve to beat up abusive/alcoholic parent after he attempted to fight

That is a lot of shit for 10 years I think, I wonder what my life will look like in 2030

sounds stressful

i played some poker
got bored of that then played some video games
watched a lot of twitch.tv

That's just a really long winded way of saying you're a zoomer, user.
Good accomplishments though, keep it up.

all I hear are feel and nostalgia
>I was exited for new technology
and people aren't today
>Internet culture was original and chill and at its peak.
Normalfag probably prefer the current one
>In terms of pop culture, you either loved all that shit or you loved to hate it, but one way or another it was pretty fun.
>but one way or another it was pretty fun.
Because you were young and had your fun
>Nowadays the entire world is running dry on common sense
every generation has said this about the next one
>you have people encouraging each other to do stupid shit "ironically" for lulz
every generation has stupid shit
>Zoomers aren't even dumb, they just don't know any better. Millenials chose to pave the road through a garbage dump.
Remover all the article that stated millennial were destroying society, that's you now

so your saying the only notable fad/trend/attribute the 2010s had to offer was the nostalgia of another era? god thats fucking sad. what a waste of time

Attached: 1563863870357.jpg (348x432, 12K)

That sounds so hopeful yet tragic, but so was my time, in a different way.
>played WoW all day, skipped school
>got sent to group home for 2 years, finished high school there
>mom and I moved to apartment to get away from alcoholic dad
>drop college classes every semester for 6 semesters straight, got refunds at least by dropping early enough
>ballooned up to 320 pounds, became shut-in
>old high school friend got into meth, would try to rescue me from my paranoid binge eating stupor
>dad gets put in nursing home
>move back to house with mom
>lose 70 pounds, go to therapy again
>my friend dies from meth, grandparents die
>become shut-in again, gain back 40 pounds
>going to lay my neck down on train tracks in a few weeks

When I was a kid, my mental "time projection" didn't go past 2020. I couldn't even comprehend what I would be like then, let alone, say 2015. In middle school, they'd ask us what we wanted to be when we graduated and all I could think of was a janitor or serial killer. I'm too stupid to get away with murder and janitors require brown skin and a PhD in custodial engineering. Mediocrity and death is all that waits for me.

why would a female join the army
and how did you get blown up yet still be able to beat up someone

New decade, same shit.

That was pretty funny user. You could maybe be a comedian.

>2030s are 125 months ago

I am a male, and I was an 88m who ran over a roadside bomb several years ago. I was fortunate though just had a pulmonary contusion and several pins in my leg, which is a great excuse to lay around and get fat. Turns out old alcoholic guys can not best young ones

>got pregnant
Were do you come from and whats your original language?

>>I was exited for new technology
>and people aren't today
Yeah no. 15 years ago shit was actually happening. Touch screens were the new big thing and changed the smartphone industry forever. Computers were getting faster and faster at a staggering rate. Today intelcucks are fucking shit up left and right and nobody even cares. Fuck, you can barely even tell with some vidya if they were made in 2011 or 2018, and that's before you figure out that the best games are the ones that don't give a fuck about graphics anyway.
>>Internet culture was original and chill and at its peak.
>Normalfag probably prefer the current one
I don't give a fuck what normalfags prefer. Normalfags are the ones who fucked it up. I'm just saying how it is.
>>In terms of pop culture, you either loved all that shit or you loved to hate it, but one way or another it was pretty fun.
>>but one way or another it was pretty fun.
>Because you were young and had your fun
That makes no sense. I'm still young and capable of having fun, but today's shit is actually just shit. You have feminists leaking their fecal beliefs into every nook and cranny of today's culture, instagram thots and soundcloud rappers amassing impossibly huge followings, mainstream music stopped being interesting in 2010, the movie industry is powered by outrage, Disney are cunts, etc.
>>Nowadays the entire world is running dry on common sense
>every generation has said this about the next one
That doesn't make it not true. Boomers being dumb doesn't mean millenials aren't dumb. The west is heading into an abyss of autism.
>>you have people encouraging each other to do stupid shit "ironically" for lulz
>every generation has stupid shit
The way the internet is now interconnected with real life makes it extra obnoxious and dangerous doe.
>Remover all the article that stated millennial were destroying society, that's you now
??

Attached: 1563922054014.jpg (125x114, 2K)

how did you get pregnant?

I wish I could wake up as a kid again in 2002 and have this all been a horrible nightmare.

youtu.be/yUPCb8Uu_0w

>be kid
>everything is safe and yet stimulating
>no work or school to attend
>no experience with death and loss

>grow up
>know to much, paranoia, no stimulation
>work or school routine, do shit you don't want with people you don't like and are not related with
>every comfort you had as a kid is now lost, some of your relatives have died, friends have moved away, things got broken, ruined franchises
>You now know of things past and have a sense what comes in the future.

>Immigration crisis, education crisis, faggots and trannies represented by government, general godlessness, Internet takeover by leftists and big tech, ancient rights not respected anywore, female hormones and poison everywhere, advancement of the vegan agenda/ big soi etc
>Realisation this has been going on for longer than your parents are alive at least

Shits fucked. Just want to get a cabin in the woods and be left alone

>time is passing RIGHT NOW
