Bnsf.... I like grainers the most....also I like riding in the unit.
I recognize that diesel electrics are for the most part the best equipment we're putting on rails now, but aesthetically a good steam engine still gets me fairly hard desu.
what I wouldn't give to take the Trans Siberian across Russia one summer, stopping everywhere that looked fun for several daysI'd be ok with winter, too
That does sound really fun. save up your money and do it. It is possible.

>save up your money
It only takes a few months' wages, even at MgRonalds, for a burger. Russia's still fairly cheap.
I'm learning Russian though, and I understand it's going to take years for my autistic shit self to even be able to order food.
Thanks for the encouragement though, user. I hope your pursue your dreams, too.
Only one original answer
Ew, that looks too european
It's a guilty fetish.
Supposedly they are now in my home state of Michigan as of this summer.

Gavin! Are you here?!
For a board that is supposedly autistic, there sure aren't very many foamers.
I like the Daylight. I got to see her undergoing maintenance in Portland once. It was really cool
>I got to see her undergoing maintenance in Portland once
I don't recall if it was the Daylight or not, but I've been to a few events featuring locomotives (active and classic) at PDX rails. I don't live in PDX anymore, but the rails in that city sure were comfy at times and there's a really cool rail enthusiast culture.
Reno's another good city for comfy rail lines, although there's a lot less autist train culture in Reno so nobody really cares and there aren't any events or anything. Some of the Nugget Casino's rooms have a really good view of the tracks/station across the street, though.
Don't know much about trains so I'll say C62
Absolutely patrician Answer
The Intercity Express 3 (ICE 3).
I remember standing on a station in Germany, late September. A crisp blue sky with puffy clouds, fallen leaves turning yellow and swirling in the breeze, and these babies rolling in and out of the platforms.
I was obsessed with model trains as a kid but too poor to afford anything more than a couple of trains and a circle track.
I used to go to those model train cities they had set up and just stare in amazement for hours on end
>tfw my country has shit tier train industry and infrastructure because of petrol jews boycotting them
The one that kills Samson
what's your country, friend and fellow trains-man?
