Never met a french person, but I've met around 10 french canadians.They were all rude as fuck, and refused to speak english, even thought they could. So that tarnished you guys a bit, but I don't really know. The stereotype is that the french are snooty cowards.

I like France. I visited once, it was pretty and I got to practice my French. Everyone was pretty nice and the place was pretty.

Every other month or so I take a 3 hour long shuttle ride to visit a big city in my state. There's usually four or five people on a single ride, including the driver. Last month, I had a ride only with the driver and a very cute French girl. Sometimes during the trip, I'd talk with the French girl, but then the driver would always chime in with what she thought was a pearl of wisdom. Goddamn boomers messing up my chances. The French girl even offered to share her pita chips with me.

I consider France to be a relatively large country within Europe that benefits from its space unlike my country (the UK) where population density is far higher and living conditions are somewhat cramped especially in England. Given this I assume that French countryside and forestry is in far greater supply and natural scenery is far better - though I've never looked into this nor been to France. To be honest after having studied French at AS level I found the country to be disinteresting much like the language as I was only doing it to get a grade and found literally every other country/ language more engaging to learn about.

Furthermore as is almost the elephant in the room today, I think the country is corrupted by once-altruistic ideals of multi-culturalism that its citizens are too afraid to speak against in fear of losing their careers, job prospects and social ties when it will only bring them un-necessary pain and essentially push them out of their own country in the long-term. Of course its clear now that the stage is set for the east as it were centuries ago~ still I don't think it right for a country to essentially exterminate its own identity to be more accomodating nor change its perception of its identitiy with disregard to the actual people for political purposes. I worry that over time and especially whence disposible income rises considerably in south Asia and Africa, France will basically become a giant tourist resort rather than a country and host to second-homes for foreigners rather a place for French people to live.

That aside I find French people to be okay, their accent can bug me at times and the speed they talk in French makes it hard for me to understand them as you'd imagine.
