Shooting politicians outright will be politicized. The media is their weapon. You must destroy their weapon, or bat it away, before they can be struck.
Once you start targeting the press, the talking heads on TV, the reporters, they will shut up to save themselves. Those that don't are examples.
Then you can hang the rats in Washington from the streetpoles. I'd recommend using something that would turn most people against the politicians if they attempt to ban it in the face of assassinations. The average deer hunting boltgun is good. Hunters and many others would be up in arms over having their shit taken, even if they sit on the fence over larger gun debates.
Destroy the media, and rebuild the solidarity. You'd be surprised how many people just mindlessly follow the news for all their world views. Then again, maybe you wouldn't be surprised.

Then control the media. Targeting them will at least make them docile and afraid of you. From there, perhaps broadcast your own propaganda, instead of the political propaganda constantly churned out by this machine. At the least, the stupid masses will be less of an obstacle with the political sway over them broken. Sure, they'll still believe the stuff, but it will fade over time in all but the most zealous among them, those being the lackeys beating one another in the streets.
Or just wait for it to collapse, it's almost inevitable at this point. It feels kind of cathartic knowing that you will live to see the downfall of your civilization if nothing changes.

The Epstein thing's going to be interesting because it looks like the normies on both sides think they have the other side dead to rights over it, so for once it's not red vs blue but elites vs commoners. I'd guess that if something real comes out of this thing it's probably going to get everyone and so the elites are also unified in not wanting anything to happen, but the commoners, mistakenly believing they're just nailing Trump/Clinton, might demand more than they bargained for.

The elites have always played off this shit though. When they couldn't have their way with monarchy anymore they made sure the democracy that was created was a false one that they could manipulate until the end of the nation. It was always a joke from the very beginning. The only real value America actually has and demonstrates through its actions is large short term profits and fuck everyone else and the consequences. Things like public health and environmental health mean fucking nothing.

The country has become very polarized. Not sure what will eventually reduce that, other than conflict.

The media and big tech appear to have grown increasingly disassociated from the average person. As further attempts to control narratives or control discourse have grown more manifest, people seem to be pushed to one side or the other. Filter bubbles and echo chambers kind of ensure someone will eventually choose a side to go down. Information can no longer be proven true due to the subversion of those presenting the information and the authoritative positions being compromised. It simply becomes a matter of what tribe do you belong, or which narrative do you want to believe. I imagine something will burst at some point, but it will take some event to kick start it.

There's no big bad like the USSR or anything anymore to unite people to an overarching cause. Can't really unite against a concept such as terrorism. All that remains is each other.

Honestly Trump being gone will reduce it greatly. It will take time but the guy is an asshole and purposefully fans the flames like no other. Unless of course he is replaced by someone like him, doesn't matter if they are to the right or the left its poison regardless of team.

I'd imagine we'll see more hotheads like Trump, not less. Trump is here because he exploited the Twitter/social media world rather than just coexisting with it or treating it like a PR dispensary. If you want to see the left-wing version check out AOC or the "Squad," or that Tariq Nasheed(?) guy. The nature of the medium of the internet, as we all know from posting here, is that simple, loud and #HotTake is what wins the most eyeballs in 2019.

You want to hit the killswitch? The entire United States electrical grid, with the exception of Texas, can be taken down by a series of surgical strikes. A few good marksmen (admittedly you'd have to be damn accurate, US army tier marksmanship at minimum) hitting certain points on the grid would cause a nationwide blackout, shutting down the infrastructure of control and silencing the propaganda, as well as crippling the government, seeing as they need it more than we do.
What's more, where these key locations are is publicly accessible information, and not only are they too numerous to guard, they aren't guarded anyways.
You want to turn it off? Gather some loyal men, train on marksmanship, and go on some road trips.

I'd be careful with that line of thinking. When the American government isn't busy oppressing its citizens, it's busy oppressing China, Russia and the Middle East. Cripple the government and it doesn't just stop fighting you, it stops fighting everyone else too. Governments at their most fundamental are protection rackets, you have to have one just to protect you from all the other ones.

Hell, I'd be unilaterally against killing the power grid just for worries over our nuclear retaliation capability. What if Russia took the chance to give the Cold War a surprise sequel, with an explosive ending?

The problem isn't just that Trump is a hot head. Its that for the most part he is an idiot and incredibly ignorant about most things. I doubt they would use nuclear weaponry. Russia and China would likely back any rebel cells they could, providing weapons, aid, equipment, and training. It's been the norm since the 60's. They backed the NVA in Vietnam, the US backed the Muhijadeen in Afghanistan, and the US backed Libyan rebels to kill Gaddafi. They became ISIS.
My point here is that conquest is a matter of backing the rebels and having them set up a government sympathetic to yours.
The US government is double fucked if they kill any non-insurgent civilians as well, since the world would now be in a state to end the "oppressive" American regime that's slaughtering its people, especially given the iffy state of things like NORAD.
You don't need to use nukes on a nuclear disabled opponent. You can save land warfare instead. From there, nukes are a liability as a defensive mechanism because you could kill your own civilians and soldiers (see: global outrage)

dude the rest of the world could end the US just by ceasing to trade in the USD and choosing another currency instead. They wouldn't need to fire a single shot this place would burn on its own at that point. Toss in some trade sanctions and this place would be done. All that wealth and money would be worthless. Of course it would have a negative impact on foreign economies as well.

The most important thing to do after it all settles down is find all the rich people that fled to every corner of earth and kill their entire families wiping them out completely for creating this mess. Seriously id even kill their fucking pets make sure they have no legacy.
