Do you get off work exhausted? I heard that job is hard work.

Why are you making so little as a paramedic? Is that really the market rate in Chicago. Around here you would at least be making in the mid $20s (I think).

It's okay I guess but only a certain kind of person can really make it doing classes, and this job attracts a LOT of fucking freaks. Or maybe that's just the (small remaining) white population, chings and pajeets have almost total economic dominance at this point and I can't even care anymore. I only see mentally ill and/or homeless whites.

FAANG?

Yes I work for a FAANG

howd you get the job? do you like it? are they as orwellian as they seem?

Yo there's a lot of Illinois robots in this thread. Who wants to go get Korean fried chicken at Crisp?

>31
>Business Program Manager
>$160,000 base with commission from contracts that I help close
>Seattle
I work in enterprise sales at one of the Big 4 tech companies and even with .1% commission, a lot of us on the team walk away with a million plus when we get billion dollar signings. Feels like sky's the limit here sometimes.

Friend was an intern there in college and recommended me. I had to go in a big room at a hotel with a bunch of other candidates near my campus and take a coding test on my laptop (this was pretty easy desu). A few weeks later I got an acceptance email for an internship which led to me getting a full time offer at the end of my term.

The job is pretty good. I'm on a smaller team that works on a less important product so I get normal hours. I've heard horror stories from others though, so really depends what you're doing.

It's about $20 - $25 where I live kek

To get into a FAANG job? If you're not in a major where you code then your best options are:

1) Know someone who can get your foot in the door

2) Do impressive side projects/hackathons/whatever

Either way you really need to know your shit if you get an interview.

I'm not an expert though, I just got really lucky.

I've done some VR side projects in the past, I was a finalist in a competition with it. I'm hoping to do some research with my professor on early universe theories, not so relevant to FAANG, but maybe SpaceX, NASA, etc is worth throwing my hat in. considering getting a minor in comp sci just to be safe, i have the credits to graduate on time if i did

Have you read or are you familiar with Shoshana Zuboff's book The Age of Surveillance Capitalism? Do you have any thoughts on that vis-a-vis your job/company?

That surprises me, honestly. That makes sense only if the salaries have been bid down to the actual product of labor which seems unlikely.

You could work for one year and have enough to be neet for a decade.
