She sleeps on my bed I can do what I like
She is big, but she isn't overweight. Summer is bad for cat food and if you don't change it, it will go bad and the cat throws up. I'd have to not leave food out overnight but the cat would probably make a lot of noise about that.

They would be fine honestly. Cats are solo by nature. If you feel that bad you can leave a radio or something with sound on while you're gone so it's not dead quiet in the house and get it plenty of interactive toys. They mostly sleep all day while you're gone anyway.

Or you could just get two cats but make sure you get a male and female. After a while, two male cats might start getting aggressive towards each other as they compete for the space of the house (assuming you aren't living in a mansion or something above 2000sq.ft). I've been having to deal with my two fighting on and off for about a year now and even had to medicate the older one with anxiety meds so he stops trying to bite the other one.

Expenses aren't too bad though. It would be a lot upfront because you need to buy a litter box, the litter, scratching posts (unless you want all your furniture shredded), toys, and food. But if you clean the box everyday and don't overfeed him, a 40lb box of litter (which is about $15) should last you a lot longer than a month and a 11lb bag of food even longer ($25-$45 depending on the brand, I recommend Wellness as it's a cleaner brand that won't give them kidney issues). I also suggest a small pet fountain as cats prefer to drink from fresh running water instead of stagnant pools and most house cats don't drink enough water so they have kidney and UTI problems. Fountains are more enticing for them and you can get a basic one for about $25. You can skip the fountain though if you plan on giving them wet food a few times a week since they also get their water from that.
