I used to be in grappling in HS (but I sucked, like statistically sucked) and I want to find a friendly gym so I can get into something like that again. I don't want to do MMA or anything but I'd like to learn how to defend myself and sort of "brush up" on grappling/ground fighting. Probably boxing but I got a fucked up hand
See if you can find a catch wrestling club in there. It's one of the best styles IMO, they never cost a lot and the guys are always there to teach you everything.
Judo - Gyms are kinda easy to find, very cool and friendly dudes, usually cheap and is very useful
BJJ - Gyms are also very easy to find, very high percentage of finding assholes, some of them are kinda expensive, but It's also very useful
