Unless you're doing a hard labor job which at some places doesn't mean an actual shift. It means on call. Refrigeration techs for example, will have to be on call for a whole weekend 24 hours a day, anytime they call you have to go fix that shit. Fuck that work, did it for 2 years and couldn't take it anymore. Always got stuck with being on call during the holidays since I was the lowly apprentice and my labor was cheaper.
