I think my parents didn't want me to watch Pokemon or play video games as a kid. We weren't that religious either, but they just didn't like it. I get why for the video games, but I still don't get why my parents didn't want me to watch Pokemon as a kid. Shows like Spongebob or whatever were fine. I'm not sure if it's because they were afraid I'd get into anime or they just saw fighting and thought it was bad. I was allowed to collect Pokemon cards though.
