Why are European cities so ugly?
Why are European cities so ugly?
no u
o
Pic unrelated presumably?
Why are American cities so ugly?
Negros
Yeah, you are right.
>literally a bunch of little shacks clustered around with no variation in design
hmm
Do majority of europeans live in apartments or do they own homes?
Because they're not America.
I swear I'm not posting from a fake location
They all have homes, but houses are expensive.
So most people are renting apartments.
It really depends, where.
>muh kassles!!!!!!!
nobody cares this isn't a Disney movie
castles aren't cities anyway, and even if a city surrounds a castle it's a shitty city
>implying every one of you lives in Trump's Tower
THIS is a city
Trump Tower is pretty ugly.
It's just glass.
No personality.

God, I want to visit Prague so bad.
looks like an excellent building. a sleek, modern building that adds to the new york skyline that surrounds it
That's european
i love my city
>euro cities are so shitty they need 14,000,000 people to look half decent
and besides, the UK is barely Euro.
>his city doesn't have a gargantuan cathedral in the middle of the city that towers over every other building
Scotts monument is aesthetic asf
That's UK, lol.
nah, it looks cold and hostile.
Watch the school of life video, I don't want to type it all by myself.
Well Europeans have a taste for the great architectural styles of antiquity and the medieval
Buildings designed by artistic polymaths rather tgan cold engineers
Please, tell me about the great American architects
boring clay colored tiny shacks
if a religious building is the tallest structure in your city it's actually a town
It doesn't matter, american and chinese cities look like real cities and euro "cities" look like suburbs or small towns
>what's google
The fact that i need to google american architects just goes to show
I couldn't name one euro architect because they don't matter at all
>it has to be tall to be a city
>if a religious building is the tallest structure in your city it's actually a town
Yes, we need more glass sticks that will cover the sky view, good job.
tall=/=good.
Because the cities on Europe are some of the oldest in western civilization. During the rise in cities during the Middle Ages, the architect’s vision was on cramming as many people as possible, rather than look.
American 'architecture' can't hold a candle to the glory of Europe
>I couldn't name one euro architect because I don't know a shit about architecture
Accurate
>architect’s vision was on cramming as many people as possible, rather than look
European architecture is objectively superior
Tell me about the tourists that visit the US for the """architecture"""
hol up
*smacks lips*
I bet your town wasn't even part of the Roman Empire you peasant. They didn't used to call this place Germania Superior for nothing.
Plain and boring
Do you think he actually just wants us to dump our architecture folders so he can save them all?
I actually don't have one, I just google exact cities.
And basicaly what he posts are office towers.
And not for living.
There's something about gothic architecture that's extremely melancholic somewhat calming. But I can't quite put my finger on it.
I believe it is the supreme architecture
This is a really nice picture.
Very mysterious and unsettling
I have never thought about Charles Bridge at dusk.

"shitty euro shitholes"
You're just baiting for more buildings
In the cities it's like 60% flats/appartments the rest own or rent houses. In villages and small town only a small minority lives in flats/appartments. Or atleast thats how it is in Germany. Whether you live in the city or in bumfuck nowhere, there's historical buildings everywhere which is pretty nice.
If you like video games I have a fun fact for you. Miyazaki the developer of Bloodborne flew to Prague for inspirations and got drunk there. Long story short he was able to catch that whole Prager feeling pretty well.
please gimme
Just pics of trump.
hmm
That's just the Midwestern cities. Don't worry, they'll be better once the inferiority complexes set in.
Looks good compared to the average american metropolis
Will America recover?
That really is the average American too.
Oh shut the fuck up.
nope
Lmao
The one on the right doesn't look that bad
Because it's European
This castle never got finished on the inside by the way, because King Ludwig the 2nd died in a mysterious way. Everyone knew he was depressed so he probably killed himself, but no one knows. Still impressive castle and worth a visit
Is American civil engineering really that bad?
Yes it is
Depressingly so
so true as this pic
It’s funny to think there is such a thing as bumfuck nowhere in Europe. What are those places like?
This one is close to that one and an homage to the French castle Versaille. Lots of Japanese and Chinese tourist there lol. Before I went there I never heard someone speak Jap irl.
prove me wrong: for every even remotely pretty building in america it is possible to name a grander and prettier version in europe
Same as in the US I assume. Everyone knows eachother, friendlier much more personal, old geezers loitering at the same spot they did 50 years ago, cute girls, boredom, great parties. If that makes any sense.
Thats not the case when it comes to the Statue of Liberty. I remember being 13yo or so with my mom in Paris cruisin through the Seine on those Bateau Mouches(?) and I saw like the miniature version of the Statue of Liberty and wondered why that is. Turns out the American version came after the French one and was actually a gift by the French to America.
The more you know.
it's over my dudes, we will never recover.
