Morrowind was fucking amazing and so was Daggerfall (for different reasons and times were different too, so it's not necessarily as enjoyable nowadays), Oblivion was good, Skyrim was mediocre all things considered (but at least the radiant quests made a return from Daggerfall and combat was fun), Arena is boring looking back on it.

Games industry went to shit, period. Former dev here, and I'm drunk enough to dox myself because who gives a fuck? I worked for Funatics a couple of years, wrote the AI for the Cultures series among other stuff. Then they get bought by Phenomedia (the company which went viral with Moorhuhn). Phenomedia bubble bursts after a while, that's when I left. But I kept watching the company. For more than a decade they tried to make some bucks with shitty browser games and freelancing for other projects because that's easy money. Now 2-3 years ago they tried to make a comeback, teaming up with Maxxis iirc, published by Daedalic. Valhalla Hills. What a shit game, they literally took all the mechanics from Cultures and stuffed into a 3d PC game but got rid of most of the complexity to appeal to casuals. After reaching the 3rd map in Valhalla I ragequit and pondered for days if I should write them an angry email, but decided it's not worth the effort.

Idk much about their politics, and I'm sure this is a better question for /v/, but I gotta say the fact that they allow you to be an ultranationalist in Skyrim is cool.

Elder scrolls, for a fact, is high on the race-pill. There's a mission in the Dawnguard quest line where, while searching for an ancient snow elf temple, you stumble across a dead Nord female with a note near a trolls den. The note talks about how she knew, deep down, that the trolls and humans were capable of living together.

Wolfenstein was a piece of shit, but so far they’ve managed to not insert any POZ into the Elder Scrolls series. I could be wrong here, but I don’t recall any faggotry or race-mixing propaganda in any of the series... I will most likely buy the new one. I am currently raging about Gears 5, though. I’ve enjoyed the Gears of War games as technically-demanding FPS games that always catered to a male fan base of gamers who enjoyed more of a challenge than mindless CoD. What they’re doing with Gears 5 is infuriating.

But so far it's still in the brainstorm period, we haven't even decided if it's gonna be a RTS or citybuilder or shooter. Well... I have a semi-static IP, it only changes every 2-3 months or so. Which sucks if I really get banned for shitposting because I'm too lazy to do more than try restarting my router (werked pretty well while we had T-Online as a provider, resetting your router would instantly give you a new ip).

Nothing wrong with turn based, I grew up with those old school RPGs. But nowadays I prefer to be able to move freely through the game world without enforced stops after every step, have some action AND the choice to pause at any point to look into my inventory, change gear etc. There's a reason most games evolved to this mechanic.
