Elders you mean if you are referring to the literal greek word for presbytery.
As far the rest, its clearly in the scriptures. So yes I do believe there were and are bishops and elders. There are also prophets and much more. The 7 Church(s) in revelation clearly show there were multiple congregations even at that time. Not to mention the many Epistles written to different congregations being run differently from each other.

What about Catholic priests (rapists)?

>presbytery
πρεσβυτέριον presbuterion pres-boo-ter'-ee-on Neuter of a presumed derivative of G4245; the order of elders, that is, (specifically) Israelite Sanhedrim or Christian presbytery: - (estate of) elder (-s), presbytery. Total KJV occurrences: 3

The bible has made it possible to enhance my persecution against the children of Cain.
The Jews. children of satan. They all need to be exterminated.

I'm not responsible for your hatred but don't boast against the branches who were cut off. Repent of your hatred and love your enemies and preach the gospel. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
Gavin Perry
Alright signing off. Any prayer requests will be prayed about when I wake up in the morning.

most catholic clergy end up in hell. they were entrusted to lead their flock and most fail. the road to hell isn't paved with the skulls of bishops for nothing, you know. dumb protty, thinks papists worship the institution.
Doesn't grace circumvent the maze entirely though? idk my parents raised me atheist but I find Christianity interesting and i'm thinking of converting.
Aaron Cooper
I've seen much of this recently. If religion/Christianity in general interests you, you should convert. It's far more complicated than it appears, even after being a Christian after some time there still seems to be more to it as time goes on. Try not to get all hung up in the infighting within the different denominations and just follow what the Scriptures tell you. Good luck!
all catholics will sin, it's just a matter if they confess, and even then they can still sin. if you don't make an examination of conscience and repent to God with humility, you won't be going anywhere. only then can you be in a state of grace. this is not mentioning making at least some effort to make good works and not simply keeping to yourself.
Kevin Morgan
So you’re saved through simply confessing your sins? Then what was the point of Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross? Was that just some pointless gesture?
Julian Martinez
Damn it mods There is literally nothing wrong with a rampant argumentative Catholic Anzu poster and you fuckwits will burn in hell
Praying in the name of Jesus Christ for faith for you. Please do check out the resources above. It does seem so.

There is a lot of confusion floating around that even though the scripture is clear. No.
The scripture is 100% clear that is faith without works and works come after being born again. We should do go works to show our light and faith to others and to glorify God and love our enemies and do good to others. Yes and they also murdered people at the stake for reading and keeping the faith. Yeah. Don't expect to see and end of it either. Ask Jesus Christ for faith yourself. He will give it to you and strength to read the scriptures. Its a horrific belief which belittles the work of Christ on the cross.
Henry James
(Hebrews 10:7) Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. (Hebrews 10:8) Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; (Hebrews 10:9) Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. (Hebrews 10:10) By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. (Hebrews 10:11) And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: (Hebrews 10:12) But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; (Hebrews 10:13) From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. (Hebrews 10:14) For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. (Hebrews 10:15) Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, (Hebrews 10:16) This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; (Hebrews 10:17) And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. (Hebrews 10:18) Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
I am a catholic and I believe a lot of the bible was allegorical, the church accepts the Big Bang theory

Thank you both for the supportive comments. I'm sad to hear that but as long as you believe in the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ we're okay.

I'm still here checking in once and awhile. Feel free to post prayer requests and questions.
