At least you can expect the weather. Sometimes the summers are either 80° or 100°. Winters? We got buried Siberia style around 2011, but last year we didn't get too much snow till' February. We sometimes can't even prepare for this shit.

The coldest I have experienced is 0C which was during an unusually cold winter back when I was a kid. I would fucking kill myself if anything below 8 was normal.

Central heating. But its not really that cold, at -40 you can easily spend around 2-3 hours outside and nothing will happen to you if you're dressed propperly.
Ye winds are bad, but if its a straight rain at around 18-20C its absolutely perfect.
