I guess it's just inevitable that a bord which has a community in it that is similar to other big boards but more refined because at the beginning the community is smaller will attract people from these very boards it was made to be an alternative to. And when a community grows it will attract even more people which will de-rail it even further. Yes old Jow Forums was better IMO, and most people arguing against that are most likely people who came from one of those other boards, but the original /b/ was a good board as well. There is just way to many people on 4ch to be able to have them in small enough community's with small enough boards, to keep those interesting and at the original core. At this rate it will become Jow Forums 2.0. I don't see why the mods or hiro would keep a clone board as he's paying to keep it up. If this board has no use that the other boards don't have it makes no sense to keep it running and the best choice would be saving your money.
