Depends on where you live and how much money you have. I took one for $503k with a 20% downpayment. It made my monthly expense $2200. Compare that to $3200 for a 20yr + 20% downpayment. $3200 a month for home is insane for almost anyone to pay.

Meanwhile I get to put more money into the market. It leaves me with an additional $1000 a month to save. That, in turn, will appreciate over time.

You know what's really fucked? When your only friends are rich kids that are basically given anything without any work for it. Had a friend got a really low score on ACT or SAT exam can't remember which its been awhile but he got a score where basically he shouldn't get into any of the top universities. Ends up getting into a top university because of connections. I have several other friends who's parents somehow got them to take extended time test for the ACT and SAT when there was nothing completely wrong with them. I know one kid that had a week time period to take one test others had an extra 4 or 5 hours added. When everyone else had to take it in a 3 hour or 2 hour time period. It's just bullshit that these kids already have it well off can pay there way to get extended tests can also pay there way to get into any college or just by connections. These kids will never have to deal with debt, finding a job, or honestly any real life struggle but whatever life's not fair and nobody should only be focusing on the material world

Man, I grew up around rich kids too. Their dads were doctors, lawyers, business men who ran multiple factories, etc. Their kids had everything dude. And to make it worse, all the girls flocked to them because of their status. Their houses were fun to hang out at. They had all the toys. Lived on the water and had waverunners and pools and boats, and all the girls would compete for their attention. One slept with a girl I used to have a long-term crush on, then spread a rumor about her having a weird pussy, which drove her to isolation. I guess it was her fault for chasing after rich fucks though.

They all failed in one way or another at college. But they all had safety nets waiting for them. One's dad got him a job in the industry he was a lawyer for. Last I heard, he's making $700k a year on daddy's nepotism. He didn't even finish college. He was too busy driving his nice car around and fucking hot girls. He went and got his associates degree so he could fill the role without it being too auspicious.

The others got into drugs and partying. But they've all got safety nets. All of them. And at the very least, they're all set to inherit millions some day. It's fucking weird growing up around that, but not being it. Seeing all that wealth, but not touching it. Seeing the social capital it earns you, the women, the friends, etc, but only from afar.
