That's a good one actually. I think about lots of things but debate very little because people generally have piss poor debate skills. It tends to change very frequently. Lately its been the eternal debate of what is good and what is wisdom. Occasionally I toss around what it means for something to be "real". A notion posed by many philosophers was anything that is therefore is real. For example: You think about a dog with 2 dicks. While the dog may not be real the IDEA of the double dicked dog is indeed real. Not all things that are real need to exist.

If you just wasted millions of ping pong balls and can't get a refund I'm sure the person who had tasked you to do this would be pretty angry.
As you can see critical thinking or asking questions is something most people lack or are weak in. They'd rather assume and then rectify the situation when it's at hand instead of doing a little critical thinking to get it right the first time.
That's what philosophy is all about most especially the Socratic method. It teaches you to ask rational questions to come to an objective answer. Without sounding like a hippy yogi it expands your mind to think more critically.

1. Detrimental. The founding fathers of America realized this and created the electoral college for a reason. They knew that not everyone is well versed in politics nor do many care about it enough to vote. As such they left voting to farmers, politicians and nobles. In other words the people who actually paid attention. A "true democracy" would be run on campaigns of disinformation, blatant subversion and smear tactics to get a universal message of a candidate to even the dumbest of people. The problem is you have plenty of people who have absolutely no idea what they're voting for.
2. There's no such thing as rights but there is no such thing as freedom. You will always be at the mercy of some other force. Whether that force be gravity, government or another individual you're still not truly "free" and don't have the "right" to be. The better question would be "who is to decide who has what rights and what rights you don't have?"
3. Nothing is inherently right or wrong. This is another question that requires more information. What is right and wrong? Socrates pondered the essence of good until he died for it is a subjective matter that has no objective answer. What is right for some is wrong for others and vice versa.

This whole answer is good and I quite enjoy it. You make the distinguishment between being "alive" and "living" as having multiple answers. While one is merely the act of existence another is the act of living.
