Yup just like raids in Vindictus only with more purpose. Same thing in Warframe with the missions to progress. You can't progress past a certain point without having a whole team of higher level people with riven mods. I've soloed everything up to that point though so I'm kinda capped out with Saren Prime because of it until I can farm riven mods.

raiding is generally extremely monotonous unless you're playing with very good players, and then it's usually autistic unless you have the amazing fortune to be playing somewhere that's managed to put together a large number of people who aren't autistic or bad at the game, and convinced them to let you join in.

I was thinking more along the lines of being used as an improvised screwdriver to get into something in a pinch, the last bit of change scraped together and used to by some little single sweet by an exuberant youngster, or maybe just picked up by someone having a bad day and being the thing that inspires them to take a more positive outlook - "Find a penny, pick it up, and all the day, you'll have good luck"

I've only hit WoW once, for a few weeks, since a bit after Wrath came out, so I don't really know how good that is or what you're raiding.
Aren't you supposed to be doing mythics though when the new raids come out? I think on most servers if the guild isn't at least competitive for the best guild on the server, or at least the faction, they're not very good. Even in guilds like this on large servers, I always seem to find at least a couple players who baffle me with their incompetence.
I'm probably pretty elitist though, so don't take my opinion on it too personally.

To also clarify, i you meant mythic dungeons, we've been doing those. Doesn't mean you don't want to get into raid and start progressing though. Mythic dungeons only provide so much gear and you can only do each one once per weak unless you are climbing the mythic plus ladder.
As for where my guild is at in terms of progress, for only raiding for 4 hours in total, we're doing pretty well. We guarantee downing heroic and mythic progression is a secondary goal.
