8:46:40 AM - American Airlines Flight 11 crashes into the north face of the North Tower (WTC 1) of the World Trade Center (Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA) between floors 93 and 98 killing all 86 passengers on board instantly and numerous others in the impact zone.
9:03:00 AM - United Airlines Flight 175 slams into the south face of the South Tower (WTC 2) of the World Trade Center (Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA) between floors 77 and 85 killing all 56 passengers on board instantly and numerous others in the impact zone.
9:37:46 AM - American Airlines Flight 77 flies into the western side of The Pentagon (Washington D.C., USA) taking out all 7 stories on the western side and killing all 58 passengers instantly and numerous others in the impact zone.
9:59:00 AM - The South Tower of the World Trade Center collapses in on itself killing hundreds of civilians and first responders instantly.
10:03:11 AM - United Airlines Flight 93 crash lands into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania (USA), killing all 44 passengers on board instantly.
10:28:22 AM - The North Tower of the World Trade Center collapses killing hundreds of civilians and first responders instantly.
5:20:33 PM - 7 World Trade Center collapses, having caught fire from debris of the North Tower, resulting in no fatalities or injuries.
In total, 2,997 people were killed as a result of the attacks of September 11th, 2001, and over 6,000 people were injured, and hundreds more would die years later due to dust inhalation from the World Trade Center. The attacks of 9/11 sparked a global war on terror under the Bush administration leading to the invasion of Afghanistan in October 2001, and the invasion of Iraq in March 2003. In May, 2011, orchestrator of the attacks, Osama Bin Laden, was killed by SEAL Team Six in Pakistan. His body was dumped into the Mariana Trench near Japan and the Philippines in the Pacific Ocean.
