USB killer v2.0
Other urls found in this thread:
This kills the Thinkpad
This actually needs to be mitigated. A lot of people just plug in any usb they see like a retard.
Waste of a good thinkpad, that's my thought.
Also, what's 2.0 add?
Nice. Are you going to post the video about 3.0 in 2021?
why does this thing exist?
for what purpose?
The site says that they sell lots of these to police forces. What would the police want this for?
To destroy evidence
Is Linux and Mac compatible :^)?
Pretty sure it doesn't damage the hard drive does it?
You can kill a computer with an RJ45 to mains power cable as well. Fuck me, you can do it with an HDMI cable too.
Well it didn't explode so no
>AfP
That's pretty scary.
Does it damage the harddrive?
apparently just kill the mobo, worst case maybe the ram or cpu.
this is the cringiest shit i've ever seen
write "bitcoin wallet" on it and leave it in a hipster coffee shop
kek
OI cunt u better be using a myki or else ..
>wipe someones computer
The Data will still be there. Must be a great university
One less stinkpad, so room for one more Macbook Pro in the world.
>Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds
>Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Pranks will have no end I must get this and fry everything in my sight.
>Waste of a good thinkpad, that's my thought.
This
Maybe if it was a Lenovo Thinkpad, but even then, use a shit laptop.
>Implying that there aren't actual methods of deleting file slack on allocated or unallocated disk space, HDD's or SSD's alike
>hurr this device can destroy any computer
>all you have to do is plug it directly into the computer's USB slot
>even servers and datacenters are at risk
Jesus Christ, there are any number of ways to destroy a computer if you have physical access to it.
Also this, that faggot is retarded.
That was an IBM Thinkpad, all the Macbook Pros from that era died years ago.
F
dub quads hybrid confirms
Actually it was a X60, that's Lenovo.
K
> there are any number of ways to destroy a computer if you have physical access to it
The idea is that it takes seconds and doesn't leave any physical evidence of tampering.
USB killer 3.0
I would use this to kill my laptop and get back 70% of money spent back.
Any idiot can steal company logos off Bing images and add them to their website.
destroys it quicker by sending more impulses per second. apparently there is version 3.0 already which sends 12 220V impulses a second.
Like they wouldn't detect the burn smell or actually notice the burnt circuits once they open it up
So if I plug this in my laptop can I replace it in warranty? It has a scratch on its back I don't like
They wouldn't know I did the damage. I didn't open the PC, I'm just a dumb fuck who bought a laptop.
Warranties and other shit don't apply on electric discharge damages.
Read this And the third party that do replace electric discharge damaged laptops just repair them, aka new mobo, same enclosure.
>Warranties and other shit don't apply on electric discharge damages.
They do in Europe.
Where is this stated? The most I could find was that they have 2 year warranty only, nothing about electric damaged covered as a plus, all companies still tell you its not covered on their manuals.
Only accidental damages are not covered. If there's a surge and my pc gets fried, it's still in warranty. This is what I've known for the past 10 years
>tfw you're running for office and the killer US Bees strike
Mine is a surface book, so replacement is their only option
kek
You know they still just open those and replace the mobo right?
TRASHPADFAGS ON SUICIDE WATCH
shills. breaking old tech makes old but still fine tech rare and more expensive, hence driving up sales of new machines.
ask anyone owning one of the usb killers what they do: they are always tightly integrated in the tech news and early adopter machinery.
But it is on most hardware. Newer hardware in particular has fuses etc, which make sure only the port gets fried.
>doesn't leave any physical evidence of tampering.
The fried USB port is a pure coincidence.
Based lol
If it didn't damage the platters then it's still salvageable data.
USB Killer sends a repeated 200V pulse. Given that there is no computer that can handle that kind of angry electric pixie raep like that, it basically kills your computer in the same way that a power surge kills your computer.
(You)
Kills your computer and trips the breaker. Genius.
It's only covered if the manufacturer made a design or fabrication fault causing the failure.
A warranty isn't the same as an insurance, it's just consumer protection.
Label it "Evidence of Trump/Russia collusion" and leave it outside CNN's offices
People killer 1.0
Would anything happen tho
>Dick yang
stick it up your bum and try.
3edgy5me
such state level skill at play here
This
post pics, relevant to the conversation
>bing images
okay so what the fuck is the point of this
anyone who destroys a perfectly good laptop should be executed
If you already have physical access to a machine you can just "kill" it with a hammer.
What's the point of this?
they should either be executed or stripped of the right to have a computer of any kind. waste enrages me
seeing this shit feels like i am a starving african child seeing wealthy white people throw away perfectly good food in front of me
Fun, you no fun queer.
that is a very russian video
Meme Tech OC
leave em around and ruin peoples days for lulz
>hey buddy do you have notes from the last XYZ lecture?
>"sure thing they're on this flash drive ;^)"
I'm pretty sure they'd kick your ass right after. Better to just leave it on the ground.
govt.us.cyberintelresearch.org/cyberkillerprogramsv3
>Top Secret US Military Researchers have spent billions in taxpayer money developing a potent new "computer killer" technology.
>Its implementation is far less suspicious than even the silent "USB killer", as a computer can be completely wiped and destroyed in millisecond, with the whole deployed process seeming an unfortunate coincidence to onlookers.
PANIC
PANIC
PANIC
ITS OVER
SELL YOUR SHITCOINS NOW
GO INNAWOODS THE GOVERNMENT CANT BE STOPPED
Implying he doesn't also have a piece ready to shoot the place up, just in case the whole hammer plan doesn't go as planned.

*Blocks path*
>fry somebody's computer
>they get angry and demand that hands be thrown
>pull out a gun and point it at him
>IT WAS JUST A PRANK BRO
God bless the USA.
*Nothing Personal Kid*
>pull out a gun and point it at him
Implying he would require any pointing
Not only that, many new devices use a photon bridge to completely decouple the internal data lines from the port by using photons as the transmission media instead of electrons. This means that it's not possible to send voltage from the port into the data lines on the host side, and only the port is killed.
Those elements are called optocouplers and this is exactly what I've said.
There's more interesting ways to manipulate USB other than bricking a computer.
This
WHY DID HE HAVE TO TRY IT ON A THINKPAD?
That poor thinkpad :(
>mobo electrocuter
>le malicious haxx0r device
fucking hell
It sends very short high-voltage pulses. It can leave some damaged chips or PCB traces inside, but it won't melt/burn the port itself.
All very evident in the event that this tech was utilized in any attack resulting in asset loss. Easy prove in a forensic analysis.
Does 120 volts AC make my internet run faster?
Sierra owns a PC because she's black
if its dlan/powerline yes
is the hard drive still in tact?
That's obvious, however
a) tracing the culprit might be more difficult than if the computer was wrecked in a more obvious way (eg shot up with a 50cal);
b) without any external signs of damage, the owner might not even realize it was sabotage that has to be investigated rather than random hardware failure.
I don't see this shit being useful for high profile corporate sabotage or secret service type stuff, but in the hands of random teenage dickheads it can be a problem.
