My 6's touchID was broken and Battery was starting to get fucked up.

I chose the X because it has a combination of the following traits:

Yeah, um, except no.
The "slowing" they admitted to was, surprise surprise, throttling. Throttling is not a new concept. All it did was ensure that the phone doesn't shut down unexpectedly due to poor battery health.
Sure, Google never throttled any Nexus devices but good luck trying to find a Nexus 6P that hasn't started bootlooping because of it. Good luck trying to find a Galaxy S4 that doesn't die at like 30% for no reason. Throttling can be good sometimes.
And you don't need to upgrade to a new phone entirely. You could literally replace the battery and the phone would go back to performing like brand new.

tl;dr - the throttling was actually implemented to help you keep your iPhone longer.

The only benefit my iPhone 8 had over my shitty S3 is being able to use Snapchat like a normal human being. The iOS experience is just a daily series of microaggressions, whether it's the lack of an adblocker on the App Store that isn't dogshit, or the Fisher-Price UI, or needing to give 99 shekels/year to Apple for the privilege of installing your own apps.
If they can't come out with an 11.2 jailbreak soon, I'm switching to an Android phone as a daily driver.

low end androids are getting pretty good now. the moto g5 is only $200 and it has a full 1080p 420ppi screen. a finger print reader and a 13 mpixel camera which is pretty good. the samsung j7 also has a 1080p screen as well.
