Why don't we start a movement to pressure Apple to make a few sensible choices with their phones? I feel like if we can convince normies that they're missing out on basic, simple features, they'll join in on the boycott.

My main gripes:
- Add OPUS/FLAC support natively with the music app.
- Make it possible to add music, get photos, etc. without jumping through a bunch of hoops. Just give us access to a Music directory that appears when we connect the phone to the computer and unlock it. Why is this so hard?

I open the Music app, search for an artist/album/song click add to library and download.

because no one cares about any of that, fag

Dont be mean.

You realize there are more manufacturers than Apple, right?

Apologies, I typed this in a bit of a rush because a pal was taking me to the gym. I had intended to write up a better OP.

There are more manufacturers, sure, but Apple phones are pretty nice. I was given an iPhone X as a gift, and the thing is fantastic, but having to juggle multiple apps just to listen to music is ridiculous! I feel like this is a problem that a bunch of people must run into all the time. Considering that FLAC and OPUS are both open codecs, and that Apple has flirted with OPUS support (by way of ringtones and adding basic support to play OPUS files, just not music library support), there's no reason why you can't other than that Apple is lazy and wants to push people towards their proprietary formats. So the only way to force them to change is to demand it en masse.

Also, the way the phones handle files is ridiculous and needs to change. It's fucking bullshit that if I want to test video players with an episode of an anime or a movie or whatever, I have to copy the file to each fucking player. I had six players I wanted to try and that meant six copies of the same damn file, for no reason other than that Apple has to be stupid about this. It's unacceptable, and I don't understand how people willingly buy these when they lock you down so hard for no real reason.

Also when you open all apps, there's no "close all" option and you have to do it 1 by 1.. iOS a shit.

What makes you think Apple listens to their customers? Also, what makes you think Apple's customers care about anything that Apple isn't already doing?

I don't know, I was thinking about how people being obnoxious on internet forums caused such a ruckus that that Battlefront 2 failed miserably and they had to backtrack on a good amount of the bullshit, because people finally just stood up and said "nah, fuck that". I don't think it'd be too hard to create a movement that could swipe up normie iPhone users and convince them that they're getting screwed over, that Android has more features and that there's little excuse for Apple not including them in iOS. I mean look at how much Jow Forums was able to convince a bunch of normies of, and some of that was literally trolling. Fixing this could be pretty good for tech as a whole, and it would create an understanding that there are standards that we require in mobile devices going forward.

What needs to be fixed again?

Because Android smartphones already do those things and more.

I just can't wrap my head around Apple's file management philosophy or why they haven't added obvious features like a close all function in the app switcher.

>Add OPUS/FLAC support natively with the music app.
Why would you store OPUS/FLAC formats on your phone anyway? Just use .mp3 to save space.
Just use the default music player lmao why would you download another bloated music player on your phone.

Apple Devices have strict file management system to protect itself from piracy. The idea is that they want you to buy stuff from the Itune Store or get a streaming app. They force to slap DRM on your computer with itunes installed before it lets transfer files from your computer to your Iphone.

They are never going to change that. It's not something that normies would be pissed about streaming music is the solution. The Battery throttling shit that Apple pulled drove Normies to the edge tho.

>why they haven't added obvious features like a close all function in the app switcher.

Because IOS automatically suspends apps that are not in used in the background, It's actually hurts the performance and battery life when you force close apps rather then keep it open.
daringfireball.net/2017/07/you_should_not_force_quit_apps

because the people that use apple dont care about any of those they usually go like
>haha I only use spotify netflix and snapchat anyway
>my iphone is getting laggy im due for an upgrade this year

Why the fuck you're bothering with closing apps?

learn to greentext
>cunt

>OPUS/FLAC support
what did you just say nerd

>Make it possible to add music, get photos, etc. without jumping through a bunch of hoops
true about this part. god damn apple users probably don't even own PC's anymore since they consider the iPad their home computer, so we might be beyond that point of having that feature gifted to us. apple really does skip out on the most obvious features but everything else works well enough that you forget it.

vote with your dollars

I just want a headphone jack my famalam.

Based on that graphic it shows the S8+ has the worst efficiency at that task but only by a thin margin likely because of the screen size. Look at the power depleted.

iPhone 7
>old A10

iPhone 8 spent 1293 mah in 40 mins
iPhone 8 Plus, 1552 mah
OP5T, 1386 mah
S8+, 1645 mah

Their efficiencies are nearly equal when you factor in the display size. OLED doesn't even help here.

>Why don't we start a movement to pressure Apple to make a few sensible choices with their phones?
Yeah...no. That never works.
Don't know if you've noticed yet, but Apple doesn't really like to, y'know, listen to people. They just kinda do what they want and if it fails, so be it. If it's successful, so be it.

This. There is no reason to manually close an app with memory management in mobile OS's.

Then why can I torrent reams of music without paying, dump it into iTunes, then dump it into my iPhone? Faggot ass bitch
