IRC and privacy don't really go together and you'll have to do some configuration, set up bouncer servers and or ask for cloaks from server admins if you're serious

why? it's worse than weechat out of the box, less actively developed and has a smaller ecosystem. seems like people are just stubbornly attached to irssi because they used it a decade ago.
