How long do you think it'll take before we get physical number buttons back on phones?

I miss innovative Sony Ericsson.

Current Sony phones are stagnant garbage.

any of you managed to run ELFs on sony ericsson phones? I remember thinking how cool would it be to run native code rather than those shitty J2ME apps but never managed to root the firmware

This
I converted mine to k810i
Also fiddled with firmware, fonts and menu layouts

Attached: sony-ericsson-k810i-01.jpg (450x497, 29K)

Why don't companies try anything but a fucking slab anymore?

Buttons aren't in demand anymore and you can't innovate when the screen takes more than 90% of a surface. Innovative stuff is now about adding stuff to phones like an e-ink display or a thermal camera instead of changing the design of the phone itself.

the only good thing about N4 was the support and price after being reduced to $200
it had horrible battery life, subpar display, back panel that was insanely prone to shattering, bad audio, both on headphones and through the speaker
i could go on and on
i would know, i used one from release until last year

And yet even with all those problems I still fucking loved my N4 :)

This phone was amazing. Took photos, videos, editied them, downloaded games and applications... Wait, what can smartphones do that this couldn't? not much.

Jow Forums is 18+

The iPhone 5 came out in 2012, my parents got me one for my 13th birthday and I'm 18 now.
...You do realize 2012 was 6 years ago, right?

I miss when everyone had different, unique phones

I feel old.

Best phone ever made.

Attached: Sony-Ericsson-W850-4.jpg (589x700, 164K)

I had one and it was garbage

So it was overpriced, had "features" no one wanted and sold terribly?

my nigga
I really want to find my Palm Vx now. Most useful mobile device I ever owned.

I remember having this phone loaded up with the South Park WOW episode. Good times.

My iPhone X anons...
Motorola PT-550, 7 days battery, no BS.
2 straight hour conversation.
Plus, with some aluminium foil, you could listen the entire spectrum...

Attached: motoPT550.jpg (236x214, 4K)

This. I still have the phone, the battery is almost dead by now, but the phone itself works. I keep it for nostalgia.

Attached: IMG_20180403_232005.jpg (1872x3328, 618K)

This one, I absolutely loved it and I think I used it for about 6-7 years. Still works though some of the keys are so unresponsive that it's basically unusable.

>I know
>we'll use a stylus
>no one wants a fucking stylus

If only that existed with modern specs. Same dimensions and all I'd take it in a heartbeat.

>ericsson release this
>does very poorly
>the international version is miles ahead of the US version
>no 4g when 4g was becoming a standard
>single core snapdragon among dual core
>crap battery
>plastic screen
>resistive touch screen
>poor resolution
>ICS required hacking the phone for US users to get touchpad emulation working
>sony never releases another phone like this again
>the ericsson department gets absorbed
>a patent from sony prevents anyone from making a slide out gamepad phone ever again

yeah I miss them too and they created a mobile fucking virtual boy.

Sony Ericsson P910. I remember my best friend's dad had one, and I coveted it MASSIVELY. Full colour display, touchscreen, physical keyboard, memory stick expansion up to 2GB, and you could even connect it to a Blackberry server. Like the iPhone X, it did not have a 3.5mm audio jack, you needed a dongle. In many ways it was years ahead of its time, remember this was released in 2004, when it was a big deal to just have a colour screen.

I had a Palm m505, which was like the Vx but in colour. Great device, I would argue that the calendar application has still not been surpassed. I replaced it with a Tungsten E2, which was not nearly as good.
