Just bought a Ducky One2 as my first mechanical keyboard. I love the media keys on my old dell, and given that the Ducky has a calc. button next to the volume keys that I'll never use, is there any way to make it so that when I hold down the calc button, the mute, down and up volume keys turn to previous, play/pause, and next track respectively? I'm on windows 7 if that helps

I think someone answered you in previous thread my dude. I'd link but on mobile.

looks shit

you need a bigger spacebar

Attached: TransitVan.jpg (3458x1592, 1.03M)

read the manual it tells you how to program it

Ok thanks, I'll have a look at it when it arrives

these memeboards always look so uncomfortable to use. wtf is the point of it?

don't knock it till you try it

Thoughts on programmable keyboards? Thinking about getting an alt programmable controller for my fullsize but not sure it's worth the trouble. Do you guys actually use them? I just don't really know what I'd actually use it for and I feel like it's realistically not that useful on a fullsize.

Attached: km.jpg (225x224, 5K)

The biggest reason to get a programmable keyboard is if you have something smaller then a full size, or you need media keys

I got a hasu controller for my leopold fc660c, but I found I really don't need it.

Reprogrammable keys are useful for strange layouts or if you want a dvorak/workmen layout, but otherwise there is not much use for them.

wasn't that keyboard a joke? I mean he is using it on an android phone basically parodying the "small" meme everyone wants.

Yeah, that's basically what I was thinking. I don't use media keys since I just remap keys specifically through KDE to do things like that and the layout is pretty great already-- I'm not even sure what I'd change. More trouble than it's worth I guess.

I see it's this time again.

its a joke until its not user

programming keyboards is fun and shows you a lot of features you could implement in a normie keyboard by just soldering two cables, the keyboard size is irrelevant you can just create your custom keycodes and extend your OS functionality

Are you fuckers too poor for computers or something. What is this shit?

hey guys! i just remembered something, not that it should ever be forgotten, but let me just tell you that the hhkb and of course other keyboards with the topre key switch are the best known switch known to mankind. i just like to tell you that you should own one if you havent done so. good day my dudes

not a fan of the hhkb because the small keyboards aren't that useable for real stuff but yea topre is great

I finally finished my blue alps board... it is 60% cause blue alps are hard as fuck to find alright...

Attached: yey.jpg (3853x2167, 819K)

cute cat, but isn't it a bit to big?

thats why its on the esc key

> the hhkb and of course other keyboards with the topre key switch are the best known switch known to mankind
Nah, they all have issues with the upstroke hitting the top housing. Not to mention the upstroke is weak and feels mushy in general.

The rubber loses flexibility over the years so you need to switch eventually. 45g sucks anyways, 55g is ok.

It has a smooth bump.

Also hhkb is shit, it is a topre board without a metal plate. In-fact that entire thing feels like it was made in a chinese sweatshop factory. The feets slide and the plastic case is incredibly light and cheap. If you bought an hhkb at full 200 dollaroos than you got ripped off and the nips are laughing themselves to the bank.

Basically hhkb is the shitiest topre keyboard and there is no reason they should be that expensive for that ergonomic and compact layout.

yea those switches are so great nobody makes them at all except for memes, it's totally not that you just are a fucking hipster about keyboards for gods sake of all things keyboards

This keyboard seems fairly ideal. I don't have much to say. Tesoro also does low-actuation distance full-sized keyboards in on the "spectrum" keyboard. What do you guys a think?

that's a render, and those keycaps look like the ones that will gain a shine effect

>hall effect switches are not made
kek, do your homework brainlet
>yea those switches are so great nobody makes them
or, maybe putting this for your brainlet brain out there.
or maybe keyboards used to costs a couple of thousands or hundreds regularly back then. Now keyboards are so cheap there is no point to building them so expensive nor high quality anymore.

Worst keycaps I ever felt. They suck so much dick. I feel like I am pushing through sand when typing on those.

I have used a few mechanical keyboards and I've never had the problem of keys wearing to a shine, despite being an avid bedroom dweller. I remember many board from school etc. in the 00s having that problem of course. Might be something to do with having fairly dry, skinny hands.

nice glowing mouse pad, faggot

I would wait on the low profile meme. They are new atm and competition is brewing to drive the prices down.

actually you could buy 10 of them and tape them into your hands so splitlets can stop memeing their shit

this is what happens when you arent bullied enough and dont learn how important it is to have a healthy social standing

wait till the redditers come reposting their shit here

>he compiled his own roast to call everyone else gay
holy what a cunt. you can tell he's a reddit user. fuck mkg I know you're all from leddit.

>cares about what other people think about him
kek

I've noticed this lately. A lot of redditors are posting their shitty keyboards for (You)s. I guess upvotes are just not doing it anymore

I don't know the first thing about keyboards.

where can I get this/how do I go about putting one together?

>being too autistic to understand how important it is to care about what other people think
sad

everybody on Jow Forums also uses reddit these days

I don't

I doubt that.

>he showers and maintains his appearance
real alphas dont give a shit about what others think hehe

My wrists are starting to hurt just from looking at that.

>3 shift keys
literally why

nah bro tiny keyboards that make you contort your hands to hit 4 keys at the same time regularly are good ergonomic options lol, thats why they cost hundreds of dollars more than a real keyboard

you also forgot caps lock

Wait, let me get this straight: $100+ for a set of KEYCAPS alone? That are going to fade/succumb to oily skin?

Is this >mechanical keyboards in a nutshell or am I missing something?

well there's a margin where you should care and stop caring, if its based on what anons say to you in an anonymous forum then you are fucked for life, basically what ever you say or post will trigger some idiot in a negative manner and you shouldn't cater to them, they are negative black holes that will encourage you to commit suicide.

>am I missing something?
yes, you're missing something very big

Attached: Clackfactory skull.png (1179x531, 167K)

let me share one word with you user:

buypigs

Not so much from the size of the keyboard than from that uncomfortable pose and wrists angle.

normies will bully people spending hundreds of dollars on tiny manlet keyboards with childish color schemes more than the anons on Jow Forums ever would

you should step outside for once user. normies love 60% keyboards even since apple made them standard

I mean this shit is bananas
I use tech for years, I imagine the $130 keycap set I'm eyeing is gonna be looking the same as my current M$ keyboard: symbols faded and keys shiny

It doesn't help I'd grow attached to my custom setup and probably wouldn't be able to find the same keycaps 5 years from now

What the fuck is this

It is a hobby and there is going to be that one company that tries to take advantage the enthusiast. GMK which makes those abs keycaps are one of those companies. Novelty companies like this
are one of them.
You can spend decent keycaps at 50 at most. The 100+ ones even worth getting or vintage keycap recreations THAT ARE MADE FROM PBT. GMK SUCK MY DICK.

>symbols faded and keys shiny
I doubt that, unless you got memed into buying some meme profile in ABS. These expensive sets never shine and never fade

I bet a redditor bought that. Who the fuck even buys novelties. I mean if it was like 2 bucks maybe, but literally they server nothing functionality wise.

Are there any similar alternatives to a unicomp ultra classic at the price point? Seems like the only decent mechanical under $100 that isn't gaymershit

No. Unicomp and
modelfkeyboards.com/
are the only people making buckling spring keyboards

ebay for model m. No joke I actually am selling my model m for 60 + shipping on mechmarket right now if you want it.

You better not be memeing me user, I'm about to make the stupidest purchase of my life
My skin is particularly oily due to stress

Again if it's not a meme set like GMK pad printed ABS then you'll be fine. Make sure it's dye-sub or doubleshot PBT.

We need a beginner's guide on what not to buy?

Send us a link dumbass if you want us to verify.

link what you're buying

You have to go back.
Take all the other faggots with you.

>""""premium"""" abs
Stop that. Nobody here suggests ABS for anything.

Just got my first model m, am I /mkg/ yet?

Attached: IMG_20180403_194354.jpg (4608x3456, 3.93M)

no, you need a SSK to go with it

sure? This isn't a sekret club or some shit.

congrats you succumbed to peer pressure and bought a shitty old keyboard

>SSK
excuse me?

what is that keyboard plugged into? some wireless adapter ?

>We need a beginner's guide on what not to buy?
Probably. Do our pastebins even have anything yet? Or go modify whatever garbage is being suggested in /pcbg/

yes

im not from reddit and i don't like that place, their norms are fucked up and encourage total brainwash you shouldn't use that place if its not as a content aggregator

It feels good tho

>shitty old keyboard
? The fuck are you talking about? Buckling springs are great.

are they programmable?

Dammit that looks comfy. Do they built them with numblocks instead of function blocks?

none of the old IBM keyboards are programmable by default, you need a converter for that
