Hell no. Get a decent midranger for $150-200 and use an MVNO. Flagships are a huge waste of money and for the difference you could literally buy a DSLR which no smartphone will ever match.

probably not gonna update until the S11 or whatever, and I'm not even that likely to buy Samsung again since I don't like the S8 or S9

would still be using an S3, but I ended up convincing myself to get a new phone because the USB port wasn't transmitting data anymore (and I really needed to get an actually recent version of Android on the thing if I wanted to keep using it)
