Nothing wrong with an Athlon 64 x2 solid chips and cheap nowadays. Go for it man I have an Athlon64 X2 system with a HD 3870 I use it for older titles that don't like newer systems.

At my old apartment complex someone threw out an old Dell Optiplex GX280. Had everything in it too, hard drive, processor, 4GB of RAM, CDRW, etc. I pulled it out of the dumpster, cleaned it out, and was going to use it as an OpenBSD box but decided not to and tossed it back out into the dumpster.
