Why would I use Alpine Linux when I can just use Windows 10 and do everything I need to out of the box with plenty of support?

Seriously. I fell for the linux meme and can't believe how bad it is. >installing things on linux is so easy, just sudo apt-get install it teehee this is the biggest lie ever told. good luck actually with it actually having your program listed. good luck having any of the dependencies. if you want to do anything, you're in for an afternoon of tweaking configurations. it's basically that POS project car that someone works on because they like the act of working on the car more than driving it.

>>Doesn't have bloat packages repos Yeah, it does. >>Doesn't have DE in repos Have you seen XFCE4? >>Has masterrace dwm in repos KEK, imagine being this delusional >>Normies stay away from this distro cause it doesn't support DE Muh secret club, also it supports XFCE. >>The most sane minimal linux distribution period I love running 3 applications and a trash userland designed for routers! >>Doesn't have GNU bloat Since when is GNU bloat? BusyBox is half assed because it's supposed to be used in an embedded environment, GNU cares about functionality. So basically - working software = bloat? >>Did i mention how minimal it is? The package manager never ever installs bloat Yeah it does, try compiling Linux on it - you'll fill your system with more GNU than Fedora. >>Doesn't have systemd botnet Systemd is far from a fucking botnet, retard. >>Boot times are insane fucking fast >Hurr fass boot :DDDD Are you underage? That's what I should expect from a suckless faggot. >>Did i mention how fucking minimal it is? Dude I too love my software not working!

>dwm in repos Suckless in your repos is a bad thing. You should be downloading the source, configuring it, then compiling it yourself. It's not even about ricing. The pages themselves suggests patches you should install along with the programs. I'll probably try it again later if it's still supported in a couple years. The whole basis behind Suckless is "Reeee normies, we're so great ;) normans can't make make install ;) surf can only support one tab per instance (And that's a good thing!)" They're such faggy elitists. It's a good idea, but their philosophy interferes with functionality

I tried 3.7 for a week. I only ever used apk stable but I turned my computer on to be greeted by a kernel panic error. The software selection is very limited due to there not being many active maintainers. It feels like a new distro where they are still ironing out implementation issues.

sudo pacman -S (You)
does apt-get not autograb dependencies?
instead of posting wojaks, why don't you discuss alpine vs bsd? it's clearly superior to average gnu/linux because it doesn't have bloatware and/or millions of shit code lines so let's talk about BSD vs Alpine and how come more people can get into them we either start to get serious about package management or we already install any 1-click distro like Ubuntu or OpenSUSE and embrace botnet
alpine user here it does package at least xfce and components of gnome, etc. havent checked thoroughly cus i dont use a DE >most sane minimal linux alpine lacks basic shit like multiarch/multilib >no GNU, no "bloat" packages you're clearly stupid, there's plenty of GNU software in the repos if you choose to use it
No one gives a shit about your niche non-working userlands, if you want working software, the GNU userland is the most working. We aren't living in PDP-7 days where you needed everything to just be small, not necessarily work.
