This thread is about the appreciation of horology, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.
That's not even a remotely valid analogy. There are countless circumstances that can make constantly pulling a phone out of your pocket impractical or impossible. Not knowing how to read the fucking time is an issue of ignorance or stupidity.

>google poljot de luxe for some strap ideas >pinteresting comes up, "minimalist men's watch" >minimalist Fuck pinterest, seriously.
I will. When they release the BB58 in blue or red.
>Is that bracelet riveted? It's not, but they made it look like it is.

There are a couple squales that are ok maybe. But overall they're just overpriced and half of it just looks like shit. Steinhart is just copies of popular designs, which I can't bring myself to respect.
Gabriel Gray
Buying a real one this summer hopefully if they don't sell out quick.
Are these fakes? The rose version is ETA but thinner right?
Alexander Allen
Memes aside Squale actually has some interesting stuff. People just get triggered by it because a certain autistic youtuber popularized them.
Steinhart less so just due to the fact that they don't really have any original designs. The ocean one titanium is their most original design and even that looks very Rolex.

ebay.com/usr/dimar2018 Fuck this fucking shit show shop Every time I try to search some good deals, the search is filled with over priced crap (casio parts, casket rings etc) from this guy.

Is it normal for a seiko 5 to take a while to fully change the day/date display or is it supposed to sharply snap from one value to the next?
It's Spanish on most versions, I haven't seen any with a French day wheel (but they may exist)
Colton Brown
Are you currently selling? You have a account with hundreds of positive feedbacks from sales? Then maybe yes, if you know where to source your stuff and sell it while competing with the whole world, especially poo in the loo shit holes and china.
Oliver Parker
My mistake
Gabriel Murphy
I'm super lucky and got a goatfucking headchopper wheel.
I sell a couple of things occasionally, everything with really competitive prices. All auctions go with first bid etc. Not worth it desu, but I still get my money back + some pocket change for those sales. I mostly try to sell stuff locally (free of any charges), but some things just sell better on ebay.

The rose rep isn't as good as the shield one because the printing on the rose is extremely intricate on the gen and looks a little off no matter the quality of the rep.
The $300 shield reps by ZF are almost indecipherable from the real thing so long as you get one with good QC and of course so long as you don't pull the back off, check it's +/- wander or power reserve.
Give it a year. They will fill its place with a 4R driven one.
Elijah Martin
I don't really trust anyone to disassemble a new mechanical watch and reassemble it as good as it was.
Cooper Carter
thank you, from reading online white seems to be the general consensus for dress watches especially given the dark suit
Brayden Gray
Rather have a Seamaster at that price desu, there are no good reps of Seamasters.
Jackson Ramirez
very nice user, thanks
that's what watchmakers are trained for. if anything, I'd trust a watchmaker to do it better than the robots do it at the factory. you can do it yourself though. and it doesn't involve touching the movement.
Henry Hernandez
So you reckon they're just gonna change the movement and release it under a different range?
Seiko wants to have the 6R be in more expensive watches. So the SARB line existing was a problem for this and had to be killed off. Same thing happened with the SARB cocktail.
>that's what watchmakers are trained for It doesn't matter what people are trained for. You can't trust anyone to do anything right these days where the bar is being lowered across the board.
Carson Scott
Because a good $300 "fake" is almost as nice as the real thing and costs 10% as much.
Luke Scott
help me out here guys. been wanting to get a simplistic watch so I turned to the Seiko 5s. I for the love of god can't decide between these two. love the dial colour of the left one but the crown positioning and glass size of the right one. which one would you guys get?
Whoever says wrists genetically can't grow is memeing you. Sure the sliver of bone RIGHT next to your hand may stay the same size but everything above that will grow. So gain some weight soyboy
Christian Thomas
>Is it for posing as a rich person? Since this is Jow Forums, propably not. I would buy a fake in a situation where legit ones do not offer anything in the price range, lets say I want a calatrava looking watch that have to be modern, my only choise would be to buy pic related.
i disagree, but even then, just do it yourself. open it, remove the crown, remove the hands and dial, change the day wheel, put everything back where it was.
Jonathan Price
>which one would you guys get? Black Bay replica.
Dominic Torres
Those small crowns are kind of a pain in the ass. The hands on the one on the left are pretty cool too.
