a) You manually select "install updates and restart/shutdown"
b) You're a fucking retard who've been delaying updates for fucking weeks for no fucking reason.

Double check your BIOS settings. I don't recall an option where Windows can reboot the machine on power restoration.

Wrong on both counts. It updated on Monday too, and I selected no such thing. At least on Monday, it informed me it was downloading an update, and installing after a restart. Today I had no idea a download occurred at all, nor any indication an update would occur upon restart. I had used it for several hours/times yesterday too, so it wasnt a lingering install from the previous update.
And yes, I know I'm retarded for not ticking "metered connection". But in my defense, I never expected W10 to acticely try to fuck my pc up so hard.
I will when I get home, but I haven't fucked with the bios at all on this computer. It should be factory default.

I give you the benefit of the doubt because you don't sound completely retarded, and assume I never get similar shit because I'm on the Insider builds which might've changed the policy since then. Maybe on the regular Creators Update you can still get updates to quietly install in the background and force-finish their installation on the next restart - I remember having similar cases a long time ago.
Good news then would be "they are fixing this shit in the next public release".
