This thread is about the appreciation of horology, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.
I'm absolutely in love with this 18 carat, rose gold Casio Ana-Digi watch purchased from the beautiful river of Amazon. Made with acrylic infused plastic that even my fingernail can scratch, I've spoiled myself with this gorgeous timepiece. The quartz calibre has been crowned as the most successful watch movement ever produced, completely handmade by chinks. It is also my very first day double time watch and it will be interesting to see if it becomes an important feature that Will depend on over time. I hope you all enjoy this watch as much as I do.

Swatch skin does that as well. It's the slowest visible beat rate of a wrist watch I'm aware of, with the Seiko 8m25 in second at 1 tick every 12 seconds.

Aaaaannnnnnddd this is why I never posted wrist shots on here

Will be able to translate anything else when you post it
are the chinks really making a databank ripoff? like not just a shitty 99c calculator watch?

Had to roll my sleeve up to take a decent pic. It's a bit too thick to fit under my cuff comfortably hence the marks where it digs into my arm. This shirts cuffs are a bit weird it fits comfortably under my other shirts.
Was thinking that what this is missing is an integrated jubilee bracelet (or a nato with fused bars) and faux screws on the bezel.
Jackson Brown
yo mang your crown's trying to escape
Easton Evans
nope, it's annoying and I suppose it drains the battery faster
Chase Turner
Yeah, it's comfy and I leave it on most of time. Especially at home when I'm not wearing the watch, it's still audible enough to remind me of passing hours. God, I'd love a striking Zeitwerk.
Nolan Scott
also this got me thinking, maybe pocket watch sonneries are affordable enough?

>hourly chime Would be pretty annoying hearing a casio beep every hour. It go so annoying while just pushing the buttons that I disabled the piezo on mine.
It's in the closed position in that picture too. But I'll cut the stem once I find a way to make the movement sit right in the case - or I'll buy another dial or case if I need to. The strap is obviously not staying either.
If you're lucky you can sometimes find an Atmos for around that, like in an estate sale or something. And that's very much cool and worth collecting.
Adrian Foster
How do you know the buttons are pushed all the way in?
Nathan King
That is a real problem, looking to have a stripe milled around the circumference
Blake Long
None. They're all still expensive as fuck. Not 100k+ though, at least. Problems are the cost to get them serviced by someone that actually knows how to do it (or make the parts from scratch) and the greatest struggle is finding the someone competent to work on it at all.
Matthew Martin
ok, so it will just remain a dream then, well at least I can go to my local church to listen to the bells
Jace Young
The apple watch unironically has beautiful realistic deep and rich bell tones available
