He pays for 128GB of storage

Why?

Music.

Spotify exists, kiddo.

Porn.

Good if you only listen to pleb shit and garbage quality

I thought Spotify supported FLAC streaming, am I mistaken?

You are.

>Spotify is great, but I've got a lot of music not available. My wifey likes it for modern electronica shit so we have a subscription, but thye're really lacking in some things. I've got a huge collection of piano pieces that took me years to piece together from private trackers. Spotify has most of the same songs, just played by different people, different orchestras, different halls. Doesn't matter of the piece of music is the same when it sounds different to the ear. Even some obscure metal I have is missing on spotify. So until that changes I load my phone up, and will always be happy to have more storage.

Besides my niche autism other people load up porn and animu on their devices. That eats up space quick.

yes.
iirc it's a feature they've been touting for months that still hasn't come out yet.

I didn't want to greetext that. Brb offing myself

as long as it has an SD card slot I'm golden. No SD card slot, then I'm not buying your device, simple.

you're either a:
shill
retard
trolling
normalfag

Spotify is garbage unless you have premium because of the shitty quality they other on the free version and the ads unless you have an adblocker. Once you have premium, you can spend all your mobile data (if poorfag) or download the music in high quality.

A man of my intellect prefers to have all the important files locally in high quality yet overkill FLAC and use Spotify as a way to discord new music on the go. kiddo.

Why are you calling people kiddo when you suggest Spotify as an alternative to having a decent selection of music.

I didn't pay though. My 128gb card was free.

send pics of your slutty hairy hole please

>being a storagelet
You just don't want to ask your wives boyfriend if you're allowed to buy a better phone

>My use case scenario is the only one that exists
>There is absolutely no way that people might use their devices differently
Why is Jow Forums so guilty of this?

People with legitimate autism think they're being logical because they can't conceptualize their own blinders.

This is after a device reset. Would prefer more device storage instead of getting a memory card.

More so than storage size, the type of storage really matters, among other things of course.
eMMC has greater performance and endurance than a microSD card. Even more than that UFS modules outpace eMMC. For device longevity I'd rather have a phone with a high volume of storage, preferably UFS.
Even if you keep data primarily on a microSD card the internal eMMC is still being used, still slowly wearing out. Every day it and the battery get closer to death. You can try to maximize lifespan by pampering the battery when it comes to how and when you charge it, but the only way to extend the life of eMMC is to literally never use the device. Thats not really a viable option. The practical alternative is to simply have more storage.

1 minute of 4k recording = 1GB

Because money is the least of my concerns

Eh, by the time my music collection grow larger than what my phone has I'm sure newer phones would come with more storage as a standard.

You'd think so, but 256GB UFS modules have been in production since like 2016 and they're still unicorns. The market isn't demanding it, so manufacturers aren't delivering it.

So I can store 30GB bluray rips on my phone

Well, yeah but so far I'm around 30-40 gb so by the time I'll pass 128gb it's going to be a few years. Then again, with how popular streaming services are nowadays you really can't be sure. Maybe we'll be stuck with 128gb for a long time.

>le streaming meme
Oh yeah sure, let me just waste my fucking phone battery for the 16 hours of a day that I listen to music

>buy a phone with no internal storage
>utilize the modem constantly to stream music
>the modem is the only other portion of the phone capable of pulling as much power as the CPU or screen
>drain battery faster
>degrade the battery at an accelerated rate
>manufacturers start selling more phones each year

Don't fall for their tricks

Not everyone can afford or has the infrastructure around them for 4G speeds. In some rural areas I got down to 3 and even 2G. Also it's just nice having the capability to store that much in your hands.

The only problem is the transfer rate over USB. Need more phones with a USB-C

It's not actually a constant drain. Even if you downloaded everything as 320kbps CBR MP3 that's only around 2.4 MiB per minute, which only takes one or two seconds to download over LTE.
t. filthy Google Play Music user

It still adds up day after day. If you genuinely treat your phone as a disposable appliance then its not a big deal, but I like to keep things for more than a calendar year.

>A man of my intellect
>kiddo
Calm down there, tiger

soundcloud ftw.
only if you have unlimited data tho.

Because it stands for "install Jow Forumsentoo".

>He doesn't realize people don't use their phone exactly as he does

Attached: Screenshot_20180406-173316.png (1080x1920, 85K)

Unless you live in an area that only gets non-HSPA 3G coverage, it really doesn't.
wrt the ad hominem attack, well, you can go fuck yourself. I've never kept a phone for less than two years.

Keep paying for extra data faggot

>he doesn't get 10GB/mo. for peanuts
What are you, some sort of filthy American?

Its 5 USD for 1.4 Gigs a day for 90 days here

I still like to use my data on other things than burning data streaming for over 10 hours a day

You're literally a fucking retard.

>10 hours a day
That seems excessive. Where would you even spend 10 hours a day with no LAN or WiFi coverage? This is a technology board, so I imagine most of us either have desk jobs or are college students...

>Be British
>Catch train into city
>Loses reception in the middle and of nowhere
>"buffering"

>1.4 Gigs a day
Is that the max amount you get per day, or could you use 120 on the first day?

Spotify does not respect your freedoms.

Wireless is so cheap that it is my primary connection.

More over fuck trying to deal with wired providers. They are too fucking slow to do anything.

Meanwhile prepaid wireless providers are fast as you don't need to deal with any human as systems are already setup. Just pick up and go.

That's per day. Which is enough for me.
Although teleco provide higher plans (i.e.. 4-10 Gigs a day)

There was also an unlimited one at 17$ per month. I used it for a few months than god rid of it cause i ran out of stuff to download that i cared about

I regret not getting 256GB version.
Other is 6GB animu and rest is app data.

Attached: image.jpg (1242x335, 120K)

>$5 for 42GB/month
>in Canada, a cellphone plan that includes 40GB is around $300 Canadian
>want to get an unlimited plan? Find a new country, we don't get those here
At least the province I'm in has internet that makes most US connections look like the utter shit they are

Alright, that makes more sense. If mobile data is your main connection you probably shouldn't stream music all day.

>not converting them to 720p/480p due to small screen
>not having over 30 seasons of anime on your phone

>kiddo
lol

>reencoding an encode of an encode of an encode ever
pleb

>why?

good question. I stream my flac library from my plex server

Episodes of pirated shows from my NAS that I can play offline when I'm on a plane or anywhere without wifi

I like to keep my BLACKED RAW vids on tap in the event I'm stuck somewhere with no signal and need to fap
