>Is apparently superior

Really makes you think.

Followed the project since the first thread. Wanna know what killed it? Autism.
Had everyone endorsed a client from the beginning (qTox was kicking ass but the self-appointed main dev endorsed the monstruosity of utox), given priority to the right features and put some effort to try to put it in all the mayor distributions and specially android and ios and it could have been a rightfull contender to the comercial apps.
I believe there is still future for it, but the origin was a fucking shit show.

>Really makes you think.
no it doesn't.
If you won't show it to ppl, nobody will use it.

>dev says "use a different platform to compile it for yours"
>dev says "auto login is insecure"
it will not save settings, I do not want a window to pop up over other windows so that I paste passwords into it instead of the desired window
>op says it is the best
yea, its the best at being unusable

Use GNU Ring.

>why aren't you using it yet
because i don't have any friends lmao

But user I use qTox all the time to chat with my buddies.

Tried using it on desktop and just didn't seem to cut it well enough, especially the main reason me and friend tried it, voice chat.

Riot seems to work, but similar issues with audio chat. :/

okay, so?

It isn't dead, and tox is a protocol, not a client.
The protocol got its shit together (toktok toxcore) and so did at least one client (qtox).
You could post the text version, for proper computers vs shitphones.

>toxme.io
Nothing to do with tox (the protocol specification).

no one to chat with

Post your id maybe.

I dont have any use for it yet... So... thats why.

>thinks that are superior are more popular
yeah really makes you think when the most popular messengers are skype discord and facebook

> 12 weird people on pic
sure user, all Tox users must be like this

I had high hopes for tox but people involved killed it. I moved onto matrix, wire, whatelse

If there can't be one protocol, can there be, at least, a front end for all of them at once?

The devs fucked up.

>too much drama, donation money disappeared
>mobile clients took years to be usable
>desktop clients were very bad at sending files

I used it for a long time, even talked to some people from here. At this point, I wish they just adopted the Signal protocol and focused on writing good clients.

Any project big enough will attract drama sooner or later.
The garbage is purged, and the project continues stronger as the toktok toxcore.
