Is Rust good for game development?

fuck off manchild
It has no GC so yes. There are bindings for SDL, that's all you need.
No. Game development prioritizes performance for the core engine and fast iteration for scripting. Rust gives you the worst of both worlds, because you have slow compilation every time you change things, and you still have to drop down to C for your critical loops.
Just use c++ or c# or god forbid he. Everything else is garbage.
>rust
is only good for tranny commies. use a proper language that's developed on technical merit and not cultural marxism
use haxe with OpenFL, or lua with LOVE2D
OP here, I'm not developing the next Crysis
What is the forbiden language?
No. Assembly is all you need.
haxeflixel.com
export to 7 platforms for dummy
>and you still have to drop down to C for your critical loops.
Nope.
>slow compilation
hmm...
>making 20k loc project
>better use c to avoid 1 second of compile time
you still haven't covered any of your 2 initial claims:
>performance for the core engine and fast iteration for scripting. Rust gives you the worst of both worlds
>Is Rust good for [..] development?
No.
Yes, if you want a game that can only run on a desktop.
Why would you want a game to run on anything else?
No, borrow checker will rape you
Some people like to play on their watches
lol, that's not bait, you really are a manchild if you are an adult who even thinks about making/playing videogames.
What do you do for fun?
>t. web """developer"""
Because working on SQL statements for some boring accounting application is so much more rewarding
^This
^This if you enjoy your ass being disciplined by the borrow checker instead of focusing on the game
if you want to make an indie game, you can use pretty much any language. people used to make thousands of games in shitty languages like flash.
so just use whichever language you know / want to learn.
