>no extensions
Waterfox still best browser tho
Consider removing borders.
bloat
Looks like firefox.
What about ublock origin?
>decentraleyes, user agent switcher, and noscript/umatrix, are bloat
It's just QupZilla rebranded. It also uses Qt WebEngine which means it uses Blink. So it's literally just like Chrome or qutebrowser.
>tabs not in the title bar
Don't call us, we'll call you.
Using a browser without ad blocking in 2018 is absolute cancer, and hosts based blocking usually look terrible.
>that standard meme adblocker instead of ublock
ew gay
What's so good about this browser?
>tabs in title bar
Don't call us, we'll call you
>wasting space
Why did you even apply.
>Integrated AdBlock
Why couldn't they integrate uBo instead? The least they could do is NOT include a resource heavy adblocker.
The built-in ad-blocker works perfectly fine.
Can you add custom filters? Does it have element picker mode?
Can you add custom filters?
Yes
Does it have element picker mode?
No
Vertical tabs?
dropped
It's not enough to have an ad-blocker nowadays(and I bet this piece of shit doesn't even have cosmetic and per element filters - only hosts blocking) - you also need an anti-adblock blocker.
How do I put the vertical tabs on the right instead of the left?
why should i switch from Iridium or Waterfox to this thing?
Who has a title bar? That's a taste of space in and of itself.
>Who has a title bar?
OP.
>qutememe
if falkon had vi keybends i might give it a chance but NO
>Does it have element picker mode?
>No
Absolute shit.
Enjoy your bloat.
Ads are bloat. Enjoy your bloat AND security risk.
>"guys chrom* is botnet and firefox is a chrom* clone without obscure addons only 100 people cared about"
>"use this botnet chrom* clone without the obscure addons instead"
Element picker literally lets you make sites less bloated. Shit argument.
>duckduckgoy
If Falkon is a botnet, then all browsers are botnets.
Come again when you can show a browser that can do this to the titlebar.
looks ugly as shit
It blocks the ads.
Stop going on porn you and you won't even need an element file picker. I almost never see ads or empty frames.
Can any browser do that?
>2018
>Reinventing the wheel
Embrace the botnet and learn to hide from it, it's the only way to live a comfy internet experience
chrom* out of box and Firefox before 57 with CTR addon.
Every mainstream browser since 2010.
Here you go, chromecuck.
how did u do that?
>porn
Nice assumption.
>I almost never see ads or empty frames.
I block elements I don't want to see you retard, what don't you comprehend?
Preferences > Appearance > Themes
>Firefox with about:config tweaks
>Good
>He needs an extension to switch useragents
the state of pajeets
>cropping a picture so you can pretend you are right
wew lad
I dont mean the theme, how did u kill the titlebar thing?
>"Hey Jow Forums, how do I escape the botnet?"
Here's a modern non-botnet browser that works as well as Chrome
>"But what about extensions?"
It has a few built-in but it's minimal. It works perfectly with every website though, is lightning fast and doesn't crash.
>"B-BUT MUH EXTENSIONS"
Well if you prefer convenience over freedom from the botnet, just stay on Windows with your Chrome like every one else.
ublock?
>being buttblasted about being wrong
Just right click on the titlebar > more actions > no border. It's a kwin feature, your browser shouldn't have any say over it.
Greasemonkey?
listen.moe?
its not there
is it because im on ubuntu?
Qt - bloat
webkit - botnet
qtwebkit - bloated botnet stuffed with poo-thon scripts.
how about fuck off.
Fair enough, still, no uBlock Origin automatically disqualifies it for me.
So you have to choose between tabs on top and having window control buttons. Nice browser you here, fag.
You don't need to use literal garbage to escape botnet. And limited ad blocking options WILL ensure you get spied on.
>It works perfectly with every website
Still no extension version :^)
People aren’t asking for extensions so they can have stupid shit like the one that plays the Free Software song or (((coincidence detector)))
They’re asking so they can have a better adblocker, tracking protection with Privacy Badger. An assurance that none of their traffic is in the clear with HTTPS Everywhere, a localized alternative to some CDNs with Decentraleyes, and fine-grained autistic control over their web traffic with NoScript or uMatrix.
Until Fallon supports such things, I’ll stick with GNU Icecat or Waterfox.
I don't know why you think an app should be able to decide how it's window is managed rather than the window manager making decisions. Also if your primar ad-blocking is done at the browser level instead of the router level, then you're still getting spied on.
Do you mind actually providing some benefits of using this over, say, Firefox?
Eli5 Falkon browser
Some people actually have to travel outside of mommy’s basement. Router-level is not an option.
does it require pulseaudio?
>I don't know why you think an app should be able to decide how it's window is managed rather than the window manager making decisions.
I don't know why you think an app shouldn't care about its usability.
>Also if your primar ad-blocking is done at the browser level instead of the router level, then you're still getting spied on.
Router ad blocking is extremely limited and redundant - ublock supersedes it entirely and has way more control over content.
It used to be called Qupzilla, and was someone’s github project. It was a solid enough browser, so it got picked up by the KDE project and renamed to Falkon, and here we are now.
Why would a GUI app manage its interface, hmn..................................
>y-you dont need that
This. I don't see what's the problem with Firefox.
>Thinking you can hide from it
>Does not have ublock
lolknty
QT
No
Telemetry, Cliqz, Riseup, Looking Glass.
Look them up.
No one is going to use your shitty browser when your only argument is throwing around buzzwords. You also haven't provided any benefits the user will actually get from using this over something else.
>No
good. i stopped using firefox because of that.
Why is Jow Forums mad about a new browser? We need this to succeed. Firefox is unusable because of their policies and obviously Chrome is botnet.
are you seriously suggesting using a less maintained fork instead of just disabling those unwanted features?
Falkon is not a fork of Firefox.
>Why is Jow Forums mad about a new browser?
Because this guy is trying to shill some shit without actually telling people what is superior about it.
wait. wtf is this shit? this is nothing else than a rebranding of qupzilla. this thread is a scam.
>new
It's free software, try it yourself. I don't get commission for this.
>Qt
>probably no support for es6 modules ootb
>dev tools have no chance to compete with chromium if it has any
>Not disabling those
It's literally the first thing I do whenever I install Firefox
I will if you actually bother to give some benefits of using it over Firefox.
Need uBlock+Nano Defuser, Tampermonkey+AdsBypasser, Decentraleyes, and no fucking containers?
Having to disable features of software right out the box should be a red flag to anyone with sense. Only Windows users think that's par for the course.
>Firefox is unusable because of their policies
Try again with actual arguments instead of retarded buzzwords OP
mozilla fired their ceo for thought crime. how can you guys still use anything from them?
Yes, because KDE now owns Qupzilla and renamed it.
No one is perfect, even Stallman has some bullshit ideas, we just care about whether a product is good or not.
And it wasn't thought crime, he donated money to a cause his society was against.
>EDUCATE YOURSELF REDNECK
Reddit is over there
I already said it's non-botnet shit. It comes from a developer that actually respects your privacy and isn't trying to turn you into the product nor does it come from an organization with questionable policies. If none of that matters, just keep using your botnet browser, I literally couldn't care less. I'm just shining some light on an alternative for people who care about that sort of stuff.
>Renamed it
The new project is not 0-1 you dummy
The 3.0.1 will release shortly. It's not a port of qupzilla either. The problem with pajeets is they don't even read before a attack. They defend mozilla like muslims attack gays
Yeah then don't customize any of your software's settings
fired him was nothing else than totalitarianism. big corps shall not enforce their political agendas on their employees.
>he is still wasting time arguing with mozilla cultists
How the fuck is Firefox botnet? Health report?
I do agree with Mozilla being questionable in some areas but it doesn't even affect the how I use the software and its certainly not a reason to use something inferior.
