Because Jow Forums is contrarian as fuck.

Because brainlets love to fall for a meme

Because it's lennartware

does more than it needs to, pushes smaller projects to depend on it, and uses google dns for some weird thing

Not sure about Botnet but it is bloat nonetheless

because anything having to do with RedHat is dangerously close to being NSA/Government shit, so it might as well be considered a botnet out of precaution.

However, most people just hate systemd because it's bloated and slowly taking over all the various linux utilities.

It's an Init system that does more than just Init

GoogleDNS is hardcoded into it

Tens of thousands of lines of still unaudited code appeared practically overnight and was immediately implemented with little discussion by almost every major linux distribution. Nothing suspicious here.

Nobody's bothered to audit the code yet because it's long and complex, so it's easier to just assume it's malicious and not use it.

Botnet.

Ignores security issues
Does nore than it needs to
forces others to depend on it
shit code
Google dns / crap defaults
Rhe way it got adopted by EVERYONE is really dodgy.

If I had to trust either Jow Forums or lennart it would be lennart.

because I have a job

nobody wants to.

Isn't it over 500,000 lines of (changing) code these days?

I HEARD IT'S A MILLION

Passed a miilion last year

Because it has thousands of unverified LoC and also

>it has thousands of unverified LoC
So does the Linux kernel, or Xorg, but no one complains about those.

The kernel is frequently audited and offers a complete audit framework.
Xorg doesn't run as PID 1 or root (on sane systems at least), so it isn't as critical.

talk about ur systemd autism in here
