On firefox when I used quick reply it would randomly copy and paste the captcha

What the fuck is going on.
>posted at 01:52 and worked fine
>try to post at 01:53 and the browser closes
I'm fucking sick of Palemoon already. I'd switch already if I could copy literally all profile settings to other browsers.

Seems like something in Jow Forums itself changed if the browser wasn't updated.
The question is whether this is an intentional change and the browser is the issue, or if there was a mistake in the site coding.

yeah what the fuck
IS THE BOTNET

Decided to just switch to Opera. Managed to import everything except history. Palemoon was crashing quite frequently lately, so this is the final straw for me. Fuck that furry faggot.

>no DownThemAll for Opera

I'm pretty sure it's on Jow Forums's side. I was running an old version of palemoon until a few minutes ago. I updated to try and fix it but no luck.

>palememe
no wonder you're getting bugs, stop using a shit browser:

palemoon has turned into a nigerbrowser anyway. what are some good alternatives?

>DownThemAll doesn't work on Firefox either
Welp, back to Palemoon...

There aren't any

>OpenBSD drama
I don't give a shit.

>can't read

this is really pissing me off.

incidentally anyone else getting problems with windows defender? i noticed both the palemoon thing and defender hogging my cpu started again today.

>having defender on

it's supposed to off, it's disabled in the registry, it's not scheduled for any scans.

i'm at the point where i honestly think microsoft is screwing with me since i disabled updates.

well fuck

what's a good browser to migrate to

Basilisk maybe?

Faggot, try Waterfox. I don't have any issues using it, and isn't a botnet. Respect muh privacy and muh freedom.

>Palemoon
who the fuck still uses this pro-censorship, pro-ads browser????

You deserve to be shat on for using that crap.

quickreply is fucked

>watermeme
no thanks

The fuck? Testing to see if it's affecting me

Why not?

THIS IS HAPPENING TO ME 2. I'm having to browse on Palemoon then reply in a window with Firefox. What the fuck is going on?

Works fine for me, what userscripts/addons are you using? Maybe it somehow hits ctrl+Q?
it's literally one about:config change to allow you to install adnauseum

>it's literally one about:config change to allow you to install adnauseum
that's not the point. It's the principle of the thing. It shows what kind of scumbags maintainers are.

>use pale moon for a long time
>not horrible
>has gay little install script
>hm.. whatever
>project run by furries
>hm.. whatever
>they have proven themselves to be embarrassingly autistic, can't really be trusted
>hm.. whatever..
>it crashes a lot and is increasingly less compatible
>yeah that's enough
>switch to icecat
>start it
>CPU 200% 25 SECONDS UNTIL IT'S STABLE
>includes a bunch of nonsense plugins, all the shitty ui needs to be tuned to be usable

Can I just find a fucking browser that works? The web was a fucking mistake. I guess I'm just going to have to deal with icecat for now. Can someone please suggest a browser that isn't completely proprietary or developed by a group of outrageous retards?

I liked epiphany, but it's far too minimalistic and can't even handle a fullscreen porn video.

Just use Chromium, people think it's botnet because it shares names with Chrome. But everything that's botnet has been gutted and got rid of a lot of bloat. It's pretty nice and straight forward. Not as low on resources as Palemoon, but still pretty good.

Just use mothra, dude

Just use vivaldi, bro

Firefox had a really weird bug, where previous images would sometimes get copy-pasted. It seems to occur much less now, if at all.

Firefox Quantum

No, I don't work for Mozilla, nor am I memeing. Just disable what you don't like in about:config

it's ridiculous how fast pale moon actually is on crappy old hardware
it's actually usable AND comfortable on a shit pc running windows 7 with 1 GiB of ddr2 memory - the scrolling is smooth, it doesn't take long to start up, etc
whereas firefox is a fucking mess, you can constantly hear the dated hdd doing something, my bet would be it's swapping like mad because lagfox doesn't fit in the available memory size, it's unbelievably slow, hangs for 5-10 seconds when scrolling etc.

>buy better hardware, problem solved
that's not realy the point, if it runs crap on underpowered pc whereas pale moon can manage to run just fine, then there's certainly some issue with firefox, no?

esr52 does not feature any of the problem mentioned in this thread

Is there any other pre-australis Firefox fork with decent support? If I wanted Chrome I'd use fucking Chrome.

>pings Google
No, thanks

>but there’s a fork!
which won’t get updated quickly enough when there’s a zero day exploit and will never be audited

>pulse audio

seamonkey

ungoogled-chromium was created for a reason. Regular chromium still connects to google servers. Stop spreading FUD

Why has this thread devolved into a thread about which browser is the best - when the problem is obviously w/ Jow Forums? I use pale moon also and this problem started yesterday. I did not upgrade my browser, made no changes to my browser or even my OS (mint). It's not like this site isn't fucked with by anonymous admins/mods all day long, or the capcha's that seemingly go on forever, or anything other annoyance. But let's talk about browsers anyhow (nevermind they all suck at this point - the problem is obviously with the site).

because you can actually do something about having a shit browser (uninstall it), while we can't do shit about how this site is run. So what's the point of navel gazing about that? It's not like there haven't been a ton of the criticizing the site before, but all they ever amount to is a bunch of bitching and moaning because nobody has the power to do jack shit about it.

Okay, where's the catch?

>can't do shit about how this site is run
I guess that's why it's free.

Attached: sandberg-hole.jpg (500x281, 12K)

BTW - quick post just worked in Pale Moon 27.8.0. Perhaps somebody noticed the bitching?

Attached: Polish Dance Party.jpg (300x218, 18K)

yeh its working now, hitting post no longer crashes the browser
gook is probably up to something fishy
or one of the mods fucked something unintentionally

although it is still giving me ENDLESS "you seem to have mistyped the captcha"s despite that not even being possible anymore since they removed legacy

>you seem to have mistyped
Yeah ... I get that also. I found that clicking the post button without checking the 'I'm not a robot' clears it. Sometimes it takes a few clicks.
Never had to fuck with this bullshit to post on UseNet.

I have the problem that I have to solve the visual captchas two times
it always says try again, if if i do it right
so anoying
it's like captcha is mocking me
captcha: "lol, you stupid, hahaha, try again, just for the fun of it"

not a whole lot of extensions for it tbqh. But otherwise it just werks, and is a lot less bloated than all the other meme browsers (despite including a ton of extra features).

I might even look into writing some extensions for it, because it would literally be less of a hassle to do that, than use the other shit tier botnet browsers out there.

you got this wrong, surely a recent change on Jow Forums made it kinda incompatible with Pale Moon, but a crash is a crash, ie. an unhandled exception on Pale Moon's size, which should, and likely will, be patched quickly.
Websites shouldn't be able to force-close a browser like this, it's clearly a Pale Moon bug which was there all the time, just the change on Jow Forums made it visible

>Palemoon

Attached: 1522711634635.png (645x729, 82K)

it's a decent botnet-less browser if not a bit dated

waterfox, you can even get it with the KDE file picker patched in

That was ugly, because i just started to use pol for a relevant happening. Sad.
