I used to run protein folding bullshit whenever I wasn't using my computer for a few years on a 3570k oc'd to 4.2ghz and my gtx680 OC'd and 100% utilization on both. I still use the 3570k and the gtx680 worked when I replaced it with a 980ti. I wouldn't mind buying a 1080ti miner card if the price was right, as in

haha what. Buy a 1050ti you absolute mongoloid for $350. Play any old game you feel like at max, play newer games at high-enough settings. It works out to be pretty much what you would have paid in 1999 for a high-end gpu at around $234. Get one on sale or ebay, or go down to a 1050ti. The 1000 dollar meme cards are for shit like workstations and professional applications.
