Nice. What clock is your 2600k at? How's that 670 holding up?

I'll be buying a new cooler when Cool Master releases their dual tower MA620P.

De-lidded? What's your OC? How's the meme coole..I mean Noctua NH-D15 handle the 8700k? Also how's that R6? Would you call it a worthy upgrade over the R5?
>4.6Ghz
Very nice. Moderate voltage I hope. Don't want to burn out your chip for no reason. And yea it sucks to see how badly gen 1 Kepler aged. I have my water cooled 670s still. I had them using a custom LN2 BIOS I found online to extend to the voltage ceiling. Was getting 1350mhz on em.

total cost?

i want a budget ass machine with roughy those specs but holding out on GPU for obvious reasons

the gpu, psu and ssd were probably the only expensive thing since they were new.
id say ram, mobo and cpu was probably less than $100

thats impressive bargain hunting, any tips?

im in bongland so it wont be quite as cheap for me

why do you need 1000W?

The cool thing back then was to buy excessively overpowered power supplies.
Even if you had a locked i5 and a GTS 450 you had a 750w power supply.

I'm using an A-Power 1200W power supply from 2008.

It's never failed me and still going strong.

I planned to SLI 680's but never got to that stage as a single 670 was enough.

How does it run in 2018? Power hungry and hot I'm sure, but can it actually still put up semi-decent numbers on medium settings?
How are the EVGA 10xx series? I heard they had almost 0 cooling on the VRMs so they were known for blowing up. Is this still an issue or has it been fixed? Because I've been an EVGA fanboy since GTX 2xx days, so it was sad to hear.

>How are the EVGA 10xx series? I heard they had almost 0 cooling on the VRMs so they were known for blowing up. Is this still an issue or has it been fixed?
They blew up because of faulty components, not because of overheating VRM (they DO get hot because of insufficient cooling but not to the point of blowing up). Apparently it mostly affects FTW cards. I have a Classified and it's fine.
Anyway they fixed that with newer revision. FTW2 and FTW3 cards have overkill cooling and PCB design so they're good.

This, I guess the people overclocked like crazy and had bad cooling. FTW2/3 are crazy, even allows you to monitor VRM temps directly.

I have the SC edition. It's been working fine for nearly 2 years now overclocked (bought at launch). I'm a bit worried about raising the voltage though. Might help the VRMs more as I have the GPU fans running at 55% when under load, rather than the default 40.

It's been a while my dudes. I'm just posting my primary computer today

Attached: 2018-04-09 (guts).jpg (1500x1317, 764K)

never knew they had hdd caddies like that. i take it you already have all the hdd slots in the back full

On the contrary, the basement slots are unoccupied because of non-existant airflow down there (in my configuration with two 140mm fans in the front). It's also very cramped down there, because of my non-modular power supply.

As for the HDD caddies. You mean the black ones under the graphics card? I have put them on some foam to completely delet vibrations

My computer case (Fractal Design Define C) doesn't have a window, so I'm going with function over form etc

POO

You always post this but never explain why you're running AM2 with a 1080Ti. Or why you have an AiO cooler worth more than your board, CPU, and ram combined.

Did the caddy come with the case or did you buy them separately?

I have somehow managed to not tinker with my computer for at least a week now

My server is all poo because I wanted it to be quiet and reliable. The psu fan is the only one that isn't, and it's been making some noise when it's really cold so I might just poo that too.

It plays Far Cry 5 above 45FPS on low. Should be able to get over 30 on medium.

Sorry for late answer. It's kind of a clusterfuck regarding my HDD caddies.

The Define C comes with two white caddies, but I'm using the black caddies from the Meshify C. So they are identical but different color, if that makes sense.

Only two HDD caddies comes with each case. I also think that the Fractal Design Define R5 uses the same caddies aswell.

You can also buy from Fractal Design's part shop from Germany. I have bought a couple of unrelated stuff there (front USB panel hub, front panel fan controller etc) and they have fast shipping times to Sweden at least.

not him, but even 7200RPM hard drives get fucked by gigabit internet download speeds

core 2 duo 3ghz
intel i-gpu
4gb ddr2
250gb hdd

what case is that and does it any major issues?

You should flip the fans on your CPU cooler around. Same with the front fans. As it is you're dumping all the heated air back into the case to be pulled out by the front fans.

Unrelated, but how's that 1080Ti run? That's the exact model I was gonna get.

Just added the bottom intake, has helped lower case temps by 2-3c at idle. Should I add 3 more Noctau case fans for exhaust next or upgrade the cpu cooler?

i run 30c at idle and its the only way everything I had at the time would clear

I might just get rid of the aio

I delidded my 8700k, with a 240hz gsync monitor and quake champions on max I had 200 fps constant at 1080p, I get 300 when i optimized the settings

>Might just get rid of the AiO
I would. Invest in a good air cooler. If your 8700k is de-lidded, it'll run nicely under even a single tower heatsink. AiO coolers also provide little to no cooling at all to the motherboards VRMs.
I see what you did there.
Red/10. What's the thing under the GPU? The module to control all the lights? And it's a shame about that SSD in the front with the logo being upside down. How's that Zotac run? My buddy had an Zotac AMP! GTX 770 and it clocked like a monster.

I've had a long day

It's actually orange/red, but my phone camera is anus.
Yeah it's led module, also not seen is nvme m. 2 below gpu.
GPU can hold 2020mhz, but it gets loud as hell especially that case is on the table, so I run it undervolted to .9mV 1860Mhz, still shits on everything but doesn't break 65C. Even repasted it with Kryonaut just to get 2 degree drop.

recc me a tower then

Very nice.
> (You)
>recc me a tower then
Single tower Noctua. Cryorig H5, Be Quiet! Single tower of choice. Hell even the cooler master hyper 212X is a good choice.

What's with all the different graphics card

ESXi gpu passthrough fuckery and I don't have a bunch of identical cards kicking around. They all work too, three separate copies of windows running with their own individual gpus and monitors like that one linus video but not retarded. Far as I can tell there's no performance drop for the gpus specifically but there's some overhead on processor and ram shit. Something like 5-15% depending on when you ask. Really good if you find yourself in the situation of needing GPU performance but not CPU performance, your workload only supports one GPU at a time, and it can be networked. Otherwise its a meme.

I already did, because someone bought my i7 and I'm waiting for Zen. In the meanwhile, I'll prepare my final proto-build with RGB, H150 and sleeved cables. When I can order Ryzen finally I'll just change the mainboard and attach the cables again.
>I actually have 1.5 TB SSDs, + a 500 GB NVMe drive
Should I go for push/pull?
ALso ordered me a better AM2+ board which can OC and supports my new Phenom, I'll OC it until it explodes, probably 4.5 GHz
Then benchmark newer games and see if they are playable

Attached: kiste.jpg (2466x1579, 422K)

Buying a PSU with twice the capacity you actually need is very plebbit

Attached: reddit.jpg (800x820, 149K)

>and I'm waiting for Zen

We all know how this will go... Again...

>hur dur I'll just run my psu at the red line for four years
>I fucking love fan noise and coil whine
>why did it stop working????
come on nigger its like 20$ more for more power than you'll ever need so it stays cool and lasts longer

Red line... Your rig will use 430W at most, and you'd still have a lot of headroom with a 500W PSU. It might just run more efficiently. Your shitty case fans and CPU cooler produce way more noise than a PSU would.

Like I said, plebbit.

Almost as budget as mine but I CBA uploading

60 FPS is all I need. Better than a 90° unsoldered 8700K (which also has only 6 cores and i come from 6 cores) or the overpriced and overheating Skylake-meltdown platform.

Also who needs 300 FPS? The only one is PUBG. Ran shitty on my 5820K as well, there is no way to avoid these drops.

PubG is trash and barely does 100fps on my 4790k & 1060 6GB, meanwhile I get 300fps in CSGO & Fifa 18.

a 8700K won't go to 90c unless you have it at 5 Ghz with the intel stock cooler.

Completely normal, but no one needs more than 144 Hz. Zen+ will clock higher and will be paired with good RAM.
It does, because I'll OC the shit out of it. My 5820K never got warmer than 70° on 1.4 V (Prime 95), 40-50 in games.
>Buying unsoldered CPUs
Also I won't buy anything with less than 8 cores. TR1920 seems tempting but 8 faster cores will be probably a better choice. I always thought I would upgrade to the next Intel HEDT, but Intel turns out as dogshit. I hope they'll make better ones again.

As I said earlier, I had planned to go SLI 680s but in the end a GTX 670 was enough for my needs. Also at the time, buying big wattage PSUs was the trend, newfag.
