I'm running my own mailservers and I have absolutely no trouble with it. Make sure your IPs are not on a blocklist, fresh domains aren't on a blocklist either way. DNSSEC signing your zone might help wih certain providers, have a DKIM and TXT/SPF record and support TLS with a valid certificate.
That's all there is to it and your mail will go trough.
